John Stephens, conegut com John Legend, va néixer a Springfield, Ohio, el 28 desembre de 1978. És un cantant, compositor, pianista i actor nord-americà. Ha guanyat deu premis Grammy, un Premi Globus d’Or i un Oscar.

M’ha semblat molt romàntica ja que la cançó va ser una balada a piano, inspirada per llavors la seva promesa Chrissy Teigen. La parella és va conèixer el 2007 en el set quan realitzava la gravació d’un dels seus vídeos . El 14 de setembre de 2013 va ser una data en què van contraure matrimoni.

Ja havia escoltat la cançó, i la veritat és que m,’agrada bastant.
Jo crec que quan s’estima algú, se l’hi ha d’estimar amb totes les coses bones, però també amb tots els defectes que comporta. No tot és perfecte, i és un fet que no té excepció.
