Michael Jackson / Lionel Richie

Michael Joseph Jackson va néixer el 29 d’agost de 1958 a Gary (Indiana).

Amb només 6 anys ja formava part del grup Jackson Five amb els seus 4 germans.

Van triunfar totalment en el 1969 amb el disc Diana Ross presents The Jackson Five.

Va emprendre una carrera en solitari que va donar fruïts en el 79 quan guanyà el seu primer disc de platí i situà dos temes en el nº 1. Desde llavors la seva fama no va fer més que créixer. El “Rei del Pop” va morir a Los Ángeles el 25 juny de 2009.

Lionel Richie és un cantant nascut a Tuskegee (Alabama), el 20 de juny de 1949.

És un cantant i músic de soul, molt popular durant la dècada de 1980.

Ha venut al voltant de 100 milions de còpies dels seus àlbums a tot el món

Cançó escrita per M. Jackson i L. Richie l’any 1985. Va ser gravada per un gran grup de músics famosos format especialment per a l’ocasió i que es va denominar USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa). Els beneficis obtinguts per la cançó van ser donats a una campanya humanitària per intentar acabar amb la fam a Etiòpia. Proposada per la Cristina M. de 5è per recordar la problemàtica que viuen al Japó arran del tsunami i dedicada especialment als de la classe de 6è dels Estats Units. Gaudiu-la!
