Grup de R&B, Pop i Hip hop de Los Ángeles (EUA) format per Will.I.Am, Apl.de.Ap, Taboo i Fergie. Will.I.Am y Apl.de.Ap es van conéixer el 1989 i van crear un dúo de soul i hip hop. Al cap d’un temps es va unir Taboo i el 1998 arribà el disc de debut del grup. En aquella època els tres Mc’s rimaven i tenien una banda que els acompanyava. El grup és comparat sovint amb altres bandes com The Roots, Jurassic 5, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul o A tribe Called Quest. Sempre s’han declarat les influenciats per Digable Planets, Stereolab i Portishead. En el tercer disc el trio es transforma en quartet i s’incorpora la vocalista Fergie. Fins al moment guanyat 6 premis Grammy i han venut 56 milions de discs. Un grup de plena actualitat i compromès en les seves lletres. Parla alt sobre les injustícies del món i té un potencial suficient per influir i contagiar al seu públic de valors més positius.
Shut up Gran tema inclòs en el disc Elephunk de 2003, el primer àlbum que participa Fergie. Shut up és un bon exemple del que vol aconseguir aquest grup: crear cançons vàlides per la ràdio com pel club o discoteca més moderna de qualsevol lloc unint milers de referències i influències musicals. Aquesta setmana és una petició de l’ Eva de 6è que és unes de les seguidores més actives i entusiastes del bloc. Gràcies i…tots a ballar!
