So, i will explain you a few things about Halloween and the Pumpkin lantern story:

The next 31st of October will be the HALLOWEEN NIGHT…

Una nit que arreplega tot un seguit de preparacions per una nit plena d’elements i tradicions TERRORÍQUES… Un dels elements més tradicionals d’aquesta nit és la JACK-O-Lantern, i aquesta és la seva història:

LA CARBASSA DE JACK-O-Lantern Quan els irlandesos van arribar a EUA i van introduir la festa de la Nit de les Bruixes, també es van emportar el que seria el símbol més famós de la nit de Halloween: la Jack-o-lantern (la carabassa buida amb una espelma dins). Aquesta tradició ve d’una llegenda irlandesa: Un tal Jack es mor i de tan dolent que era veu com se li prohibeix l’entrada tant al Cel com l’Infern. Des de llavors és condemnat a vagar pel món buscant una entrada a un dels dos llocs amb l’única ajuda d’una col amb una espelma dins. Els irlandesos americans van canviar la col per la carbassa (molt més comú en la seva nova terra) i, emulant el pobre Jack el de la Llanterna, van fer néixer el mite de la carbassa de Halloween. Un mite que al seu torn va fer créixer tota una gastronomia amb l’ataronjat fruit com a protagonista …

Would you like to make your own Jack-O- pumpkin lantern??

HERE YOU HAVE THE TIPS TO DO IT!!

1- Prepare the table and the tools that you are going to use to do the    pumpkin lantern.

*My recommendation is to cover the table with some newspaper’s sheets.

2- Get a natural pumpkin. You can choose the size you prefer: big, medium or small.

3- Get a sharped knife to carve the pumpkin.

4- Cut off the top of the pumpkin making a circle.

5- Empty the pumpkin with a spoon and the help of a knife.

6- Take a pencil and draw an original face! Once you like it, remark it with a marker pen.

7- Carve the face with the knife.

8- Here you have your pumpkin lantern!!

* Don’t forget tu put a candle inside of it and light it!
