Once upon a time there was a small village with a big castle. The village was quiet. It was in the mountains.

 A dragon arrived at the village. The dragon had big eyes, big nose and big mouth. The dragon was very strong and bad. It had long tail and big ears.

Saint George arrived at the village. He was brave, he was a knight, he came to kill the dragon.

Saint George fought the dragon. He killed the dragon. From the dragon’s blood grow a red rose.

Els nens i nenes de 4t han fet la descripció de la seva ciutat.

This is my town, El Prat de Llobregat, in Barcelona, in Spain. There’s a train station, a cinema and a town hall. There are some supermarkets, some bakers’, some greengrocers’, soem toyshops, some pet shops, some newsagents’, some schools and some libraries. Teachers from Reading visit EL PRAT.

Teachers from Reading visit EL PRAT.

La setmana del 15 fins el 19 de febrer, hi haurà al Prat de Llobregat la visita d’una delegació del sistema educatiu britànic.
El grup el formen directors, leaders i coordinadors d’Educació de la zona de Reading, prop de Londres, i l’objectiu de la visita és la comparació entre els sistemes català i britànic i el desplegament curricular de l’àrea d’artística: art, plàstica, musica, teatre, etc.
El programa s’inicia dilluns al matí amb la benvinguda a la ciutat per part de la regidora d’educació de l’Ajuntament del Prat, Sra Margarita García, el director de la zona educativa, Sr. Josep Gómez i dels representants dels Serveis Educatius i Serveis Territorials en nom del Departament d’Educació.
Es visitaran les escoles Jaume Balmes, Parc, Charles Darwin, Sant Jaume, Mare de Déu del Carme, i els instituts Salvador Dalí, Estany de la Ricarda, Baldiri Guilera i Ribera Baixa per afavorir l’intercanvi de projectes , recursos i estratègies entre el professorat.
La cloenda tindrà lloc el divendres 19 de febrer amb activitats d’avaluació i propostes de possibles col•laboracions futures entre El Prat i Reading.
De nou, El Prat demostra la seva aposta per treballar per a l’excel•lència en l’educació i es mostra com una ciutat oberta a l’exterior i interessada en la innovació, en la millora i en el suport als agents implicats en el procés educatiu.

Estades d’Idiomes L’anglès, francès o alemany serà la llengua vehicular d’aquestes estades. Aprendre i reforçar l’idioma triat serà l’objectiu de les activitats que es portaran a terme, tant a classe com en el lleure, desenvolupades per professors/es i monitors/es que parlaran aquesta llengua tot el dia per fomentar el procés d’immersió.

Es busca fomentar l’aprenentatge de la llengua estrangera, així com propiciar que els participants gaudeixin amb la llengua escollida de la mateixa manera que ho farien amb la seva pròpia.

El dia d’arribada, es realitzarà una prova de nivell per dividir els participants en classes, les quals es desenvoluparan en forma de tallers pràctics i sempre de forma dinàmica i lúdica.

Activitats de Lleure
Totes aquelles activitats que es realitzaran després de les classes d’idioma, durant la tarda i abans d’anar a dormir. Des de manualitats fins a teatre, passant per cançons i danses o grans jocs. Totes elles dirigides a cohesionar el grup i passar una estona divertida mentre aprenem els valors de la convivència.

Iniciació a l’anglès – De 5 a 7 anys
Les classes es dividiran per edats sense prèvia prova d’aptitud, llevat de casos especials i seran impartides per professors especialitzats en nens i nenes de 5 a 7 anys.

Les classes i les activitats es realitzen en anglès, llengua utilitzada pel professorat i els monitors durant l’estada.

THE LOCH NESS MONSTER

Els nens i nenes de han investigat sobre “Nessie. The Loch Ness Monster”.

* EL LLAC NESS *
-El mostré del Llac Ness, es conegut com Nessie, es el nom de l’ una criatura legendaria que suposa que viu en el llac Ness, profunt d’ aigua dolça, a prop de la ciutat d’Inverses. La versió tradicional del monstre , abans que fossin conegudes les restes de fòssils , de grans rèptils era de fet d’un cavall. Es un mite, que mai a pogut ser demostrat de la seva assistència igual que el Ieti.

El Monstre del Llac Ness

El monstre del llac Ness, conegut familiarment com a Nessie, és el nom d’una criatura llegendària que suposadament viu al llac Ness,(un llac d’aigua dolça que es situa a Escòcia)
Nessie és possiblement el misteri més difós de la criptozoologia.
La majoria de científics i altres experts afirmen que les proves que donen suport a l’existència de Nessie no són convincents, i consideren que aquests informes són fraus o identificacions errònies de criatures reals. Si existeix, és possible que fos un rèptil marí, tot i que ja es podria haver extingit.

El llac es d’aigua dolça . Hi han científics que diuen que pot existir el monstre en el llac Ness. Algunes persones pensen que es un drago o que es un peix i altres un rèptil marí . El monstre del Llac Ness, habitualment conegut com a Nessie és una criatura legendaria que es diu que habíta al Llac Ness(Escocia,Regne Unit).
Aquesta criatura es diu que és un Plesiosauri, un tipus de rèptil que ja es debia haver exingut.
A Estats Units com al Regne Unit aquesta criatura legendaria ja es una mena de cultura pero també es un dels misteris més llargs que encara no s’ha descobert.

El monstre del llac Ness, familiarment anomenat Nessie, és el nom d’una criatura llegendària que es diu viu al llac Ness, un profund llac d’aigua dolça (conegut a Escòcia com Loch Ness) prop de la ciutat de Inverness. Juntament amb Big Foot i el Yeti, Nessie és potser el “misteri” més difós de la criptozoologia.

La majoria dels científics i altres experts afirmen que les proves que recolzen l’existència d’Nessie no són convincents, i consideren aquests informes fraus o identificacions errònies de criatures reals.

Origen
La majoria de les descripcions modernes sobre l’aspecte del monstre, indiquen que hi hauria una criatura que s’assemblaria als extints plesiosaures, unes criatures aquàtiques prehistòriques. Així, la descripció moderna que se li dóna normalment són com una que presenten els fòssils de plesiosaures pertanyents a l’era mesozoica, que indiquen que aquest animal prehistòric va haver de ser un animal físicament enorme, amb un coll allargat, un cap petit i dos parells d’aletes de propulsió sota l’aigua. La debatuda hipòtesi de la connexió de plesiosaure amb el monstre del Llac Ness, va fer que es convertís en un assumpte popular en l’inici del camp de la criptozoologia.

No obstant això, els científics, i fins i tot actualment també la gran majoria dels criptozoòlegs, suggereixen que la hipòtesi que el monstre del Llac Ness sigui un romanent de l’espècie plesiosaure, és una cosa que es presenta altament inversemblant. Entre les raons donades destaquen:

Es necessitaria tenir una colònia de criança d’aquestes criatures perquè poguessin experimentar una supervivència a llarg termini, i juntament amb el fet que els plesiosauros necessitaven emergir a la superfície per respirar, això donaria lloc a observacions més freqüents dels que s’han divulgat en l’actualitat.
Molts biòlegs també assenyalen que el llac Ness no és prou gran o productiu per tenir una biomassa que pugui mantenir fins i tot a una família petita d’aquestes criatures.
D’altra banda, el llac va ser originat com el resultat d’una glaciació geològica recent i va estar en estat sòlid i congelat durant l’era del gel.
Malgrat tot això, molts criptozoòlegs argumenten que el Llac Ness és un llac amb sortida al mar durant certa època de l’any i que potser la criatura no sigui nativa del llac mateix.

El monstre del llac Ness, conegut familiarment com a Nessie, és el nom d’una criatura llegendària que suposadament viu al llac Ness, un profund llac d’aigua dolça conegut a Escòcia com a Loch Ness.La majoria de científics i altres experts afirmen que les proves que donen suport a l’existència de Nessie no són convincents, i consideren que aquests informes són fraus o identificacions errònies de criatures reals. Si existeix, és possible que fos un rèptil marí , tot i que ja es podria haver extingit.
Molts habitants locals argumenten a favor de la seva existència, però alguns escèptics suggereixen que aquests rumors de Nessie existeixen en la seva gran majoria per afavorir la indústria del turisme. L’història dels presumptes observacions i la creació del mite del Monstre del llac Ness, seria la següent:

THE LONCH NESS MONSTER
El monstre del Llac Ness, li diuen Nessie, aquest monstre viu en el llac Ness que es un profund llac de aigua dolça (conegut com el Loch Ness).
Alguna gent diu que no es veritat la existencia de Nessie, però altres si ho creu-ne i li diuen que tenen molta imaginació.

El fotògraf Wetherell va fer una foto com que ecística el monstre del llac Ness. Però uns van pensar que era un submarí de joguina que uns nens volien fer una broma.
Llavors Wetherell va fer una escultura para dir que era de veritat i va passar el mateix.
Diuen que algunes persones encara creuen que existeix.

Loch Ness Monster is in Scotland. The monster have two names one is well known is Loch Ness Monster and the other is Nessie.
Can be a big fish,or a dinosaur,or a dragon.
Some people saw the Nessie has got long neck and small head.Not eat a persons eat lots of fish and ships.
The Legend
Many people think that the first time the Loch Ness monster appeared was around 1930 but this is not accurate.  By the time the Picts lived on the Highlands, there were many stories about the monster.
Residents around the loch used to tell their children stories of a monster to keep them away from the dark dangerous waters of the loch. In the story, the monster lived in the loch and when hungry, it would leave the loch transforming itself into a beautiful horse which waited for unlucky people to climb on its back; then, it would gallop straight into the waters and feed on its victim. This story certainly kept the children away from the loch but the locals never stopped fishing its salmon.
The very first sight of Nessie dates back to 565 when St. Columba, an Irish Priest who was travelling through the Highlands teaching Christianity to the Picts, saw the creature. St. Columba met some local people who were burying one of their friends who, in an attempt to retrieve the boat that had come loose, was attacked by a great beast.
St. Columba asked one of his followers to swim into the loch and bring the boat to the shore and, when he did, the beast came out of it in order to attack the man. On seeing this, St. Columba held up his cross and shouted “Stop and do not touch the man”. The beast went into the loch.
During the 18th and 19th centuries there were other testimonies of strange things seen in the loch. 1933 was the year which heralded The Loch Ness Monster as we know it nowadays.

Pancake Day (Christian)
Christian carnival day on the eve of Ash Wednesday, which begins Lent, a time of fasting and devotions. Pancakes are often served. The day concludes the season of Epiphany.

In the UK, Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake Day (or Pancake Tuesday to some people) because it is the one day of the year when almost everyone eats a pancake.

In 2010 Pancake Day is on Tuesday 16 February.

Pancake Recipe

Ingredients
For the pancake mixture:
220g/8oz plain flour, sifted
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 pint of milk
50g/2oz butter

Method for making the batter
1. Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl with a sieve held high above the bowl so the flour gets a airing.
2. Make a well in the centre of the flour and break the eggs into it.
3. Whisk the eggs making sure any bits of flour from around the edge of the bowl are mixed in with the egg.

4. Gradually add small quantities of the milk, still whisking
5. Continue whisking until the batter is smooth, with the consistency of thin cream.
6. Melt the 50g/2oz of butter in a non-stick frying pan.
7. Spoon 2 tbsp of the melted butter into the batter and whisk it in.
8. Let the pancake mix stand for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
9. Pour any left over butter into a dish. This will be used later to grease the frying pan after each pancake has been made.

10. Make sure the non-stick frying pan is really hot before adding about 2 tbsp of the batter mixture.
11. As soon as the batter hits the hot pan, tip the pan around from side to side to get the base evenly coated with batter.
12. Carefully lift the edge of the cooked pancake with a palette knife to see if it’s tinged gold as it should be.
13. Flip the pancake over with a pan slice or palette knife to cook the other side

14. Slide it out of the pan onto a plate.
15. Stack the pancakes as you make them between sheets of greaseproof paper on a plate.

To serve
Sprinkle each pancake caster sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
