First Task
At the beginning and in teams, they read a piece of Miró’s biography and they draw this information.
After they make new groups, where in each group there are 4 different informations and they swap these informations. Finally they read the whole information about the biography and guess who is and they watch different videos about his life and paintings.
Second Task
They analyze the elements of Miró’s face and how to draw the face.
They draw six different tasks about SELF-PORTRAITS:
— Using watercolours, they draw their real self-portrait. They look through a mirror and copy their face.
–With soft crayons: hot and cold colours, and geometrical lines, they draw two self-portraits. These are the same, but with different colours. They compare and realize the difference between hot and cold colours.
–With felt-tips, they draw their self-portrait using melt lines and filling with dots.
–Using only black felt-tip, they draw their self-portrait with shapes: triangles, rectangles and squares. The self-portrait looks like a chess board.
–The last self-portrait is with paints: blue, yellow, red and green ( Parcheese Colours) and following Miró style: moons, stars, drawings as a child…
The 6 different self-portraits have got repeated elements like a serie, where you can find them in each one.
At the end they present their self-portraits in a oral presentation. They explain materials, techniques, representations, feelings and opinions about their works of art. Also they value the partners’ works and their own ( Rubric).
