HIS  LIFE

This school year our artist is Leandre Cristòfol in C. Superior.

I present this artist with a poem, where the students have to find his name with the missing letters and clues.

You  need  6  letters  and  they  are  in  the  POEM.

                                 Do  you  know  it?  No?  Then  more  CLUES:

                      “  This  person lived  in  Os de Balaguer. He  liked  sculptures.”

After in cooperative workteams ( 4 colours per 4 numbers), each colour team has to write about one different aspect of his life and later each member ( Nº team) has to tell the information to the rest of the group. At the end, the students have 4 different informations about Leandre Cristòfol.

He’s from Òs de Balaguer.

– He is a carpenter and a drawing teacher.

– He is the most important sculptor in Catalonia.

– He uses iron, wood, old objects, …He works like Man Ray. His sculptures are                                                                                                                                                                     

                                                ABSTRACT.

In the next lesson, in cooperative groups, they are drawing about his life, meanwhile they are listening to music.

At the end, they can watch a video with the same experience ( the orchestra is playing, meanwhile different artists are drawing a big painting).

Conclusion:

The students have to listen to music, draw and complete the drawing from their partners about Leandre Cristòfol’s life.

In the last lesson, they add cards or labels with written messages to hang up to the corridor.

 

HIS  WORK

After watching Leandre Cristòfol’s works, the students turn into his sculptures in a flat surface, using “sgraffito” tecnique ( Different covers with soft crayons).

Finally, they practise giving opinion. Structure:

In my opinion, I think this work is ….( + adjective), because it seems …………………………. When I look at this work I can see ……………………………………………………………………………… I feel ………………..( emotion ), because it’s a ………………………………………….( reason )  .

The students give a partner the opinion about his/her work ( Always positive opinion). This opinion is in the form of a present. They write the opinion inside a small drawing with different coloured paper. When they give the present with the opinion, they tell the opinion in front of the class.

OUR  SCULPTURES

The students analyze different Leandre Cristòfol’s sculptures.

In groups, they look at the corresponding sculpture and read information about this. After they complete the next questions:

– What materials is it made of?

– What objects are there in it?

– What does it mean?

– Who honors it to?

Then they exchange information in group-class. At the end, the students have 5 different sculptures in a grid.

Now they are ready to built their own sculpture like Leandre Cristòfol.

When they finish their sculpture, they prepare a presentation, because they present their sculpture in front of the class and the teacher records this ( If you want to watch it, it’s at school).

Moreover YOU  CAN  SEE  THE  SCULPTURES  EXPOSITION IN  THE  SCHOOL! ! !
