Stand by me és una canço de Ben E King adaptació d’un tema gospel de 1955. Ha estat interpretada i versionada per molts musics al llarg de tots aquests anys. Al youtube podeu trobar moltes d’aquestes versions, la versió original de Ben E King, la de John Lennon, potser la més famosa i també una versió on toquen junts U2 i Bruce Springsteen, the Boss, i també una versió amb dibuixos animats. Gaudiu de les diferents versions val la pena.
Sports journalist
When I was young I wanted to be a sports journalist because I liked football, cycling and handball and I liked very much the Tour of France. In summer I read the sports newspapers every day. I wanted to go to the Tour of France and know my favourites cyclists. I wanted to go to India because I wanted to visit this different country and meet different people. My favourite subjects at school were Maths, History and Philosophy. I liked these subjects because it made me think.

The new who is who is here.
Remember the rules:
- Heu de fer totes les preguntes anglès.
- Han de ser preguntes que es puguin contestar amb un Yes or un No.
- Si la pregunta no està del tot ben escrita la meva resposta serà: “Wrong question. Try again” . “Pregunta equivocada. Torna-ho a provar”. Aleshores tindreu que provar de fer-la de nou corregint la pregunta.
- Pel simple fet de participar encara que no aconseguiu fer cap pregunta correcta ja tindreu un punt.
- Per cada pregunta correcta tindreu un punt més.
- Les persones que encertin l’animal que jo penso, obtindràn 5 punts.
- Només podeu fer una pregunta cada dia.

No es poden repetir preguntes ja fetes per vosaltres mateixos o altres companys i ja hagin estat contestades. Si és així no obtindreu cap punt per la vostra pregunta. Aleshores la resposta serà: “Repeated question. Next question please”
- Només teniu una oportunitat per encertar el personatge. Un cop ho proveu ja no podreu continuar fent preguntes.
- Si veig que resulta molt difícil aniré posant pistes que us puguin ajudar.
- Al final de curs hi haurà un premi per la persona que acumuli més punts en les diferents activitats d’anglès proposades en el bloc. Podeu seguir els vostres punts en who is who score.
És important llegir les preguntes dels vostres companys i les meves respostes per tal de poder encertar l’animal. La cançó explica un fet real del 4 de desembre de 1971. Deep Purple va anar a gravar un disc a Montreux (Switzerland). Abans que ells gravava un altre grup de l’època (Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention). En aquesta gravació algú va llançar una bengala que va provocar un incendi. Ells estaven en un hotel proper a l’altra banda del llac Geneva i des d’allà van veure tot el que va passar (“Smoke on the water, fire in the sky). L’edifici va quedar totalment destruït i van tenir que esperar alguns dies a gravar. Això ho explica en el vídeo avans de començar a tocar el tema.

The Youngcast Project Comments
Una de les essències dels blocs són els comentaris que hi escriu la gent. Aquesta també hauria de ser l’essència del Youngcast Project, un treball col·laboratiu amb altres centres tan d’Espanya i Catalunya com del Regne Unit.
Però com hem pogut comprovar al llarg del temps que portem dins d’aquest projecte, pocs són els comentaris que hem pogut llegir al bloc del projecte. Per tal d’animar una mica el bloc farem el següent:
Us convido a escoltar els diferents reports que hi ha penjats al bloc i a fer un comentari en aquest post del nostre bloc. Cal que en el comentari especifiqueu a quin post (títol) del bloc del youngcast project us referiu i també deixeu el vostre comentari escric en castellà i anglès. Si el comentari és adient jo mateix el posaré al bloc del yougcast project.
Com no amb aquesta participació obtindreu punts que afegiré als vostres punts del who is who score. Màxim 3 punts per comentari: 1 punt per participar, 1 punt més si el comentari està ben escrit en castellà i en anglès i 1 punt més si el comentari és adient per ser publicat en el bloc del youngcast project.
Aquest procés s’acabarà el 22 de gener.
