Despite the gloomy weather forecast with chances of heavy rain for Tuesday 6 March, students and teachers from Institut Ermessenda and teachers of CdAempúries met at the bottom of the Montgrí Mountain to climb up to the castle and learn interesting facts about vegetation, history and the castle, using English as a language of communication and learning throughout the different activities.
Luckily it was a sunny and bright day and we were able to climb up easily. Moreover, the 3rd ESO students were highly engaged with the activity as a motivating activity had been previously carried out in their high school. For several lessons involving different subjects, such as Natural science, Social science and English, the students worked hard to prepare this excursion.
The only thing we had to worry about was the shortage of time because we wanted to do a lot of activities. But as you all know, the teaching and learning process is time-consuming!
However, to sum up, we can assert that the students of Institut Ermessenda as well as their teachers had a lovely day with us and learnt a lot about the Montgrí and its vegetation and castle.
Girls and boys, thanks for coming! We look forward to seeing you again next year.
