Good morning 6th graders!
This year we have decided to participate in the Ninth English Competition for Catalan Schools “The Fonix”. The competition is financed exclusively by the organisers: International House, the Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai and the Secretaria General de Polítiques Educatives del Departament d’Ensenyament de la Generalitat de Catalunya (the Department of Education of the Government of Catalonia). The competition is part of its plan of excellence for the promotion of the use of English in schools.
The aim of the Competition is not only to win but also to motivate the students and to promote the learning of English.
The schedule will be:
• 12th of January and 16th February 2016 inclusive: The tests will be held at each school (Local Stage)
• Saturday 27th February at 12:00 midday: the regional stage.
• 9th April: The organisers will publish the names of the winners from the regional stage of the competition and the centres they represent.
• Saturday 16th April: Final Stage
• 13th May: The organisers will publish the classification of the candidates in each category and the school they attend.
• Friday 20th May: All students who qualified for the final stage will be formally invited to the awards ceremony at which the diplomas and prizes will be presented.

Bon dia nens i nenes de 6è!
Aquest any hem decidit apuntar-nos al 9è Concurs d’Anglès Interescolar de Catalunya “The Fonix”. El concurs està organitzat per International House Barcelona, per la Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai i per la Secretaria General de Polítiques Educatives del Departament d’Ensenyament de la Generalitat de Catalunya en el marc del Pla d’impuls de la llengua anglesa als centres educatius catalans.
La finalitat del Concurs no és la de guanyar sinó la d’estimular i motivar l’aprenentatge d’aquest idioma.
El calendari és el següent:
• 12 de gener – 15 de febrer de 2016: Prova de la Fase Local a dins dels mateixos centres educatius.
• Dissabte 27 de febrer a les 12 hores: realització de la Prova de la Fase Territorial als espais que s’indiquin.
• A partir del 9 d’abril: publicació a la web del concurs dels guanyadors de la prova territorial que passen a la gran final absoluta.
• Dissabte 16 d’abril: Realització de la Prova Fase Final Absoluta.
• A partir del dia 13 de maig, publicació de classificacions finals del concurs.
• Divendres 20 de maig, per la tarda: cerimònia de lliurament de diplomes i premis.
