Hello 6th grade students! Here you can practise the dictation for next Thursday 26th of March.

This dictation is about famous people and his/her professions.

Famous people and professions

“Galileo was an astronomer from Italy. He was the first person to look at the stars and the planets through a telescope. He discovered that the Earth and the other planets go around the sun.

Alexander Graham Bell was an inventor from Scotland. He invented the telephone. It was a very simple telephone.

Frida Khalo was a painter from Mexico. She painted a lot of colorful pictures and self-portraits.

Louis Armstrong was a very famous jazz singer and musician. His voice was very deep and he played the trumpet brilliantly.”

Planets oral exposition (6th grade)

Today was the day ! We have chosen the best planet in our solar system. After a hard competition between all the planets: Saturn and Venus were the winners !

In the photographs you can see our 6th grade students practising describing planets in English. Good job boys and girls !!


Let’s play with the planets (6th grade)

6th grade students have been playing with the planets. First, we have delivered them some cards and they had to tell the main characteristics of each planet.

Then, they have ordered the planets from the nearest to the furthest planet to the sun.

At the end, we have done a competition in teams and they had to answer the main facts about our solar system.

Our solar system

“There are eight planets in our solar system: Mercury, Venus, the Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. We live on the Earth.

Mercury is the nearest planet to the sun. It is also the smallest planet.

Mars is the nearest planet to the Earth. There are deserts and canyons on Mars. Mars is called the red planet.

Venus is the hottest planet. There are thick clouds around Venus.”
