Hello, Escola Splai’s children

Yesterday, we had a fantastic conference of Lindsay Clandfield, the author of the famous English book “Global”. We learnt a lot about critical thinking and how to adapt our English lessons, language and content, to everyday life.

After that we had an amazing Quick Cricket game in the University gardens. We scored a lot of runs !

Finally, a famous local singer performed some typical British songs for us.

See you !

Oscar 🙂

Day 2: Let’s visit Cambridge !

Hi, Escola Splai’s boys and girls !

On Day 2 we played “croquet” in the garden and we had a very nice excursion to Cambridge. This monumental city is full of colleges (Kings College, Queens College, Trinity College…), a lot of famous people studied there: Lord Byron, Prince Charles, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton… Do you know that is the city in the world with most Nobel Prizes ?

Here you can watch some of the pictures. The photograph of the “Apple tree is in Trinity College. That’s where Issac Newton discovered the gravity theory !

Enjoy the photos and have a nice day !

This is a photograph of the dining room where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner every day !

On Day 2 in Cambridge CLIL course we are focusing on pronunciation and listening skills. After that, we had a look at different activities related to teaching other subjects in English and we exchanged opinions about how to do those activities with our students in class.

This afternoon I’ve got a class about computer activities and then a workshop about “Croquet” a very famous and traditional British garden game.

In the evening, we are going to visit Cambridge on a guided tour !

See you,
Oscar 🙂

Arrival at Cambridge !

Hello, Escola Splai’s children !

I’m in the UK to take part in the course “CLIL Methodology for primary learners”.

I’m learning a lot about teaching other subjects in English (Art, Maths, Science…) in a group of four Italian and Spanish teachers.

Here you’ve got a picture of my room in Cambridge (it’s on the third floor). Homerton College is amazing, even the doors open on their own !

See you and have a nice summer !
