Midsummer’s Day (4th, 5th and 6th grade)

Today is Midsummer’s Day, the middle of summer, it is the 24th of June, after the longest day (Summer Solstice). Before the change of calendars, Midsummer’s day fell on 5 July.
The longest day in the northern hemisphere is the 20th or 21st of June, but Midsummer’s Day in Europe is the 24th June.
Yesterday, it was Midsummer’s Eve (we call it revetlla de St. Joan). It is a time associated with witches, magic, fairies and dancing. Bonfires were lit to represent the strenght of the Sun.

Acte de lliurament de “The Fonix” 2011
5Benvolguts alumnes,
Us adjuntem algunes de les fotos de l’acte de lliurament dels premis “The Fonix” 2011 que va tenir lloc a l’aula magna d’INEFC el passat dia 27 de maig.
El nostre alumne Juan Garrido Moreno, va recollir els premis que el corresponien com a finalista amb la 4ª millor nota de Barcelona i l’11ª de Catalunya.
L’acte va estar presidit per representants del Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona, Cambridge University Press, NetLanguages i del Departament d’Educació.
