Pasqual Maragall

I’m going to write about Pasqual Maragall.

He was born in Barcelona in 1941.

He is a politician.

EARLY LIFE

In 1965 he married Diana Garrigosar.

He has two daughters and a son.

He was in Front Obrer of Catalonia in 1961.

He studied Law and Economics at university.

CAREER

In 1965 he worked as an economist.

He was elected Mayor of Barcelona in 1982.

He was president of the Council of Municipalities and Regions of Europe from 1991 to 1997.

IN PRESENT DAY

From 2003 to 2006 he was President of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

He is considered the most important Catalan politician of the second half of the XX century.

He has been president of the Sociallist Party from 2000 to 2007.
