Pau Casals
I’m going to write about Pau Casals i Defilló.
He was born in El Vendrell (Baix Penedes) in 1876.
He was a musician.
In 1897 he appeared in his first concert.
In 1905 he visited Russia
In 1932 he was president of the Junta de Musica de Catalunya
In 1939 he went to live to France because of the Spanish Civil War.
In 1955 he went to Puerto Rico
In 1958 he did his first concert in the United Nations.
In 1971 he made a peace hymn for the United Nations.
He died in Puerto Rico in 1973.
