Catalan People: Xavi Hernàndez (6th grade)

I’m going to write about Xavi Hernàndez Creus.
He was born in Terrassa in 1980.
He is a football player.
In 1991, he began playing football for F.C.Barcelona.
He started playing for the first team in 1998 with Louis Van Gaal.
In 1999, he started playing with the Spanish National Team
In 2005, he won his third Spanish League.
He won a Champions League.
In the summer of 2005, he won the Spanish Supercup.
The 20th of August of 2006 he scored his first goal.
In 2008 he was the Best player of the Eurocup.

He met Federico García Lorca, Luis Buñuel ,Rafael Albert, Jose Moreno Vila and more artists.
In 1929 he worked with Pablo Picasso in París.
His production in this period was based in Fredís Thory.
He died in 1989.

He was born in Barcelona in 1980.
He is a basketball player.
In the season 2000-2001, Barcelona signed Pau Gasol.
He won 1 league and 1 cup.
He signed with Memphis Grizzlies in 2001.
Now, he plays for Los Angeles Lakers.
The 5th of February 2008, he played his first match against New Jersey Nets.
Pau gasol is the first Catalan to play the NBA finals.
In 2009 Playoffs, Lakers won Denver Nuggets 4-0 and Houston Rockets 4-3.

He was a musician.
In 1897 he appeared in his first concert.

In 1932 he was president of the Junta de Musica de Catalunya
In 1939 he went to live to France because of the Spanish Civil War.
In 1955 he went to Puerto Rico
In 1958 he did his first concert in the United Nations.
In 1971 he made a peace hymn for the United Nations.
He died in Puerto Rico in 1973.

CAREER
In 1965 he worked as an economist.
He was elected Mayor of Barcelona in 1982.
He was president of the Council of Municipalities and Regions of Europe from 1991 to 1997.
IN PRESENT DAY
From 2003 to 2006 he was President of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
He is considered the most important Catalan politician of the second half of the XX century.
He has been president of the Sociallist Party from 2000 to 2007.

In 1992 she sang the hymn in the Olympic games, in Barcelona.
