What’s this caterpillar?

Hello students,

I’ve got a prize for the person who tells me the English name of this caterpillar (or the moth it will transform into). Some clues:

  • It’s not an exotic insect. I found it here, in Cunit, in my vegetable garden.
  • It eats tomato, aubergine and red pepper leaves.
  • It is a very long caterpillar. It was about 11 cm long!!
  • It is not a butterfly, it is a moth!
  • It can drink honey!
  • You should look up information in the library. Maybe a butterflies and moths guide?
  • If you don’t go to the library, look up on the internet.

Good luck!

Unit 0 exams this week!

Remember that you must study for the exam of Unit 0 this week. Some of you have the exam today, some on Tuesday and some on Wednesday. Remember to revise the number, the classroom objects, classroom language and the alphabet. Most of you are in the ‘easy’ level. I wonder how many of you will be in that exam in a week’s time…

Ordinador: primers dies

A continuació uns quants consells per a fer servir el vostre nou ordinador portàtil:
1. Recordeu de tractar-lo amb cura. Qualsevol cop i pot anar-se’n a no ris.

2. Feu servir l’ ordinador només quan els professors us ho demanem.

4. No atureu l’ ordinador de qualsevol manera. Heu d’ anar a Inici i pitjar on digui “Tanca l’ ordinador”. Podeu espatllar-ho si no ho feu així.
Tanca l' ordinador

Hola a tothom!!

What a weird language!

Summer readings

I just received volume 5 of Tezuka’s Phoenix and started reading it eagerly. It is entitled Resurrection and is set in a.d. 2483. The story begins with the protagonist’s death and his subsequent laboratory resurrection. However, this complicated operation does not work 100% right and his artificial brain changes his perception of reality. And this is only the first 20 pages of the story… Will I ever grow tired of reading Tezuka’s tales? I think not.

And in case you want to read more of it, amazon is probably your place.

Will the Scots ever be happy?

The best non-fiction seller of this year’s Sant Jordi was Crònica de la Independència, by Patricia Gabancho, which describes what will happen when Catalonia breaks free from Spain in 2010. Scotland does not need a book, as its independence is everyday closer and closer. This week’s Panorama (the BBC equivalent of TV3 ‘Trenta Minuts’) explored the different options and attitudes in both sides of ‘the border’, as they call it.
