“Posa’t a prova” offers 2nd batx. grade students the possibility to test their knowledge of subject matters that will appear in the PAU test. The English language section is divided in 4 different levels. Check them out!

I have randomly chosen some compositions and have marked them using my computer. You can download them and read all the comments. Most of the mistakes that you will find are the same that you make when you write your compositions, so they may be useful to prepare for the writing part of the PAU test.
Revision Exercises
This is the collection of exercises we have started to see in the classroom. As I told you, they were kindly offered to us by IES Vescomptat de Cabrera (Hostalric).
2nd batx B grade: FRIDAY session, do exercises from the Review 2 and 3 sections. There might be some vocabulary exercises that could prove difficult to complete. If you have enough time, check the new words with a dictionary. If you don’t, we’ll see them in class.
L’ Enclyclopedia Britannica gratuïta?
El diari digital Vilaweb publicava ahir això que pot ser d’ interès per a tots els que tenim un bloc i l’ actualitzem regularment:
“El cas de l’Enciclopèdia Britànica, una institució centenària de la cultura del Regne Unit, es posa sovint com a exemple de com internet pot pertorbar un negoci. La proliferació d’enciclopèdies de lliure accés a la xarxa i la facilitat amb què s’hi pot aconseguir informació han fet caure vertiginosament les vendes d’aquesta publicació. L’Enciclopèdia Britànica, doncs, s’obre a un públic més ampli: tothom qui tingui un bloc o una web i l’actualitzi regularment podrà consultar-la de franc.
Els responsables de l’obra volen fer-la arribar a més usuaris per no caure en l’oblit. Fins ara la Britànica solament podia consultar-se a internet per subscripció, i les consultes que s’hi feien no es podien comparar amb les de la Wikipedia: per cada pàgina de la Britànica consultada, se’n consultaven 184 de la Wikipedia.
Ara els qui reuneixin les condicions degudes poden consultar-la lliurement i fer-hi enllaços, mercès al programa Britannica Webshare. Tot amb tot, els responsables es reserven el dret de denegar l’accés a qui creguin que no hi pot optar.”

Gerunds and infinitives list
English page has got a very interesting tutorial divided in three parts on the use of gerunds and infinitives in English. It is so complete that it becomes too confusing sometimes, especially because we are only studying a few aspects of their use. Nevertheless, it can be very useful for those of you who want some extra practice.

Gerunds, infinitives and other animals
This is a list of exercises that you can use to practise the list of verbs that must be followed by either gerund or infinitive.
However, your Take Note 2 coursebook gives you only a short number of verbs, but the list is actually quite larger. This means that you won’t be able to find an answer for every sentence in the exercises.
