The best non-fiction seller of this year’s Sant Jordi was Crònica de la Independència, by Patricia Gabancho, which describes what will happen when Catalonia breaks free from Spain in 2010. Scotland does not need a book, as its independence is everyday closer and closer. This week’s Panorama (the BBC equivalent of TV3 ‘Trenta Minuts’) explored the different options and attitudes in both sides of ‘the border’, as they call it.

Bon dia ex-alumnes!
Alguns de vosaltres ja coneixeu la meva opinió sobre l’ ús de les noves tecnologies a l’ aula. Amb molts de vosaltres hem debatut alguna vegada la coneniència o no de substituir els llibres de paper per material informàtic, i potser recordareu que els únics que podem decidir-ho som nosaltres mateixos. Només cal una mica d’ il·lusió i les coses poden començar a funcionar a partir de quan tu ho vulguis.
Doncs bé, haig de comunicar-vos que el proper curs estaré treballant en un pla d’ innovació a l’ IES Ernest Lluch i Martí, a Cunit. Els alumnes de 1r d’ ESO seguiran l’ assignatura d’ anglès amb els ordinadors portàtils que han comprat en comptes de llibres.
Es tracta d’ un repte, i tot i les ganes i la il·lusió de portar-lo a terme, és ben segur que hi haurà molts problemes, tan per part dels alumnes com dels professors que participen en el programa. Durant aquest estiu faré una petita introducció al nou material i veuré com el puc adaptar a la metodologia que feia servir amb vosaltres.

Dear students, this is the end of a four year project. It started back in 2005, when my son was born and you were little ESO students, most of you not even adolescents. Now the four years are over. I have taught you, have laughed with you and I have learnt with you. I have also loved you a little, tiny, wee bit. But now, as I said, it is over, and I have to confess I am also a little, tiny, wee bit fed up. I want to see my new students in Cunit. I want to know who is the new Karina, who is the new Albert, Christian or Tàbata (Tàbatha, Tabatha, Tábatha…etc), not forgetting the new Ivans, Sandras and all the rest of you. Please, remember that you are part of this blog, wherever you may be next year, and also a part of me. See you soon. Lots and lots of love.
