Is ‘ho’ a dangerous word in English?

What do you think about this word? Is it one of the forbidden words in English like the f-word or the c-word?

It seems that ‘ho’ is American slang for ‘prostitute’. It’s probably an alternative spelling of the word ‘whore’, a colloquial form relatively softer than ‘bitch’. The reason for this article can be found following this link:

The explanation is that the boy used the word ‘ho’ in the sentence: ‘Però m’ obliguen a ser-ho’. ????

Oh god, I have to be more carefully, I also play in Xbox Live!
It seems to be that the word “ho” was censored by Microsoft, that should be the reason.
