Three boys who decice to take revenge on his friend’s death. A tale where  respect, responsibility, friendship, traison and other topics become the true characters.

    Sorry Maribel but I doon’t know where is the part of Canterbury Tales for the chapter “The Wife of Bath’s Tale”.

    In this post I write some vocabulary of the chapter.

    Hi Maribel, I just wanted to explain my ”silly” question.

    The last reading exam was about what to do when you recieve a gift, in different cultures. To do that exam, you had not to read a book. What do you had to read? Nothing, only the exam.
    So, in the canterbury’s exam, i thought that you would put a fragment of the book, and the following questions. If it had been like this, it wouldn’t been necessary to read the book. But there wasn’t any text !

    That’s why i asked you : ” Maribel, to pass the reading exam, do we have to read the book ? ”
    It isn’t so silly… i think.

    By the way, i liked your speech in class. In my opinion, I don’t think that is your fault. It is just that, we have not many desire to do class.
    Last Sunday, when i looked the Monday’s subjects, i saw ” Física, Tecno, Mates ”. I thought ” what a beggining of the week…”
    Then i saw ”Anglès”. I thought: ” at least, we’ll have a relaxing hour…”.

    Hi Maribel!
    I will write the introduction of this story. I know that now is a bit late, but I just wanted to collaborate.

    This story is told by the Pardoner one day that he got drunk. The Pardoner used to say that if people had made bad things they would go to Hell, but if they gave him money, he would forgive them in God’s name. People gave him gold . Actually he didn’t care if people went to Hell or Heaven, he only wanted the money to buy drink and a girl in every town. Finally he says that a bad man like him could also tell a good story, and then he starts to explain his tale.

    Some years ago, a group of three young boys that loved eating drinking and rUNNING ran after the women of the town.
    One Sunday they were in a travern TAVERN and they heard a bell rinGing, and in the street THERE WAS they were a dead man. They promised TO kill the Death, when they went ouT of the tavern completly drunk. They met a very old and poor man, the three young boys sayASKED to the old man IF that he HAD SEEN see the deaTH, the old man explainED to the youngers that he wantED TO DIE death, the younger boys threatenED the old man and he saID to them that the deaTH is under a tree. The old man saID that if they really wantED to find Death, they HAD TO Follow this crooked path to wards that forest, and the three man ran down the crooked PATH towardS the tree, under the tree tHEY find a coins, and theY spOKE about spendING the money on pleasure, two of the boys speak SPOKE about the money and decided to kill the third one as soOn as he returned.

    The little brother wantED the coins for himself and he goWENT to buy a poison. Finally the two brothers killED the young boy and then they drAnk the poison and finally the three brothers dieD.

    Hi Maribel! This is my summary:

    One day three young men that they wanted revenge. One of his friends dead because Death killed him. The three young men looked for Death to kill too.
    When they decided begin their search, they met a very old and poor man, and they asked him that where was Death, and if he didn’t said nothing, they would want to kill him. The old man said that the Death hid in the forest under a tree, and the three young men went to the forest for search Death and one time in here, the three men found a huge pile of new gold coins.
    The men decided that one of brothers went to town to get bread and wine and the others stay and look after the treasure. But the more young man didn’t want to share the treasure in three parts and the two men decided kill the other man. Then, when the man returned under the tree, the two men attacked for in front of and behind. But the more young man still didn’t happy and he decided poison the wine and he said that they sit and drink before we bury the body another man. The leader took one of the bottles, drank, and passed it to his friend who also drank because he forgot that the wine was poisoned.

    One day three young men that they wanted revenge…(? THE SENTENCE IS UNFINSHED) One of his friends DIED dead because Death killed him. The three young men looked for Death to kill HIM too.
    When they decided TO begin their search, they met a very old and poor man, and they asked him that where was Death WAS, and if he didn’t said ANYTHINGnothing, they would want to kill him. The old man said that the Death hid in the forest under a tree, and the three young men went to the forest for search FOR Death and one timeONCE here, the three men found a huge pile of new gold coins.
    The men decided that one of THE brothers WOULD GO went to town to get bread and wine and the others WOULD stay and look after the treasure. But the more youngEST man didn’t want to share the treasure in three parts and the two men decided TO kill the other man. Then, when the man RETURNED became under the tree, the two men attacked HIN ON for in front of and behind. But the more youngEST man WASN’T still didn’t happy and he decided TO poison the wine and he said that they sit and drink before we bury the body another man. The leader took one of the bottles, drank, and passed it to his friend who also drank because he forgot that the wine was poisoned.
    (I THINK THE END IS DIFFERENT, THE TWO BOYS UNDER THE TREE DECIDE TO KILL THEIR FRIEND WHEN HE ARRIVES, THE BOY GOING TO TOWN ALSO DECIDES TO KILL HIS TWO FRIENDS WITH POISONOUS WINE, SO BOTH PLANS WORK AND THE THREE OF THEM DIE. THE TWO BOYS KILL THE OTHER ONE WHEN HE COMES BACK WITH THE FOOD AND THE WINE, AFTER KILLING HIM, THEY ARE THIRSTY AND DRINK WINE WITHOUT KNOWING THAT IT WAS LETHAL.)

    There are four young men. They were friends. One day one of them died. The other three men got angry and decided to kill Death.

    They found an old man. He said to them that Death was under one tree. The three friends went there and saw a lot of gold coins. They decided to take it. One of them went to look to some food and drink. He poisoned it. The other two men killed their friend and then died because they drank poisonous drink.

    Finally the three men found Death.

    The boys continue their way and they find a pile of gold. They don’t want to take it at the moment because the people would think that they are thieves. So they wait for the night. They think that two of them could watch for the money and the other one could go to the city to bring some food. When the one boy go away the two others think to kill him when he arrives because they want to divide the treasure in two pARTSpeaces, not in three. The plan is to kill him while they are playing wrestle, STABBING stamping him ONby the chest and the bag.
    The other boy, who went to buy some food, thought about killing his friends with a poisonous wine. He bought poison for killing rats and he made the mixture with the wine. When he returned with the other boys they played the wrestle and the two friends killed the boy but then they drank of the wine bottle and they died too, under a tree so they found the death.

    NICE SUMMARY OF THE FINAL BIT OF THE STORY… BY THE WAY, THE CLOSING SENTENCE, IS IT A SPELLING MISTAKE OR A JOKE?, IF IT’S A JOKE, I LOVE IT (IT MADE ME LAUGH FOR A WHILE!!), WHATEVER THE CASE, IT IS A GREAT USE OF THE REMAINING SUBJUNCTIVE MODE IN ENGLISH.

    There were three boys that loved eating, drinking and women. One Sunday they were sitting in a tavern when suddenly they heard a bell ringing.
    The streets were crowded, and the people carried a friend of these three boys, the friend was dead.
    The boys decided to go and search the Death.
    The boys met a very old man, and they asked about the Death, they didn’t respect the old man, and they said that they spoke very rudly to him.
    Finally the old man said that they could find the Death under a tree. But in the way, the three boys found a treasure, and they made a plan. One boy went to the town to get bread and wine while the others stayed and looked after the treasure. The other two boys changed the plan, the decided to kill the third one as soon as he returned, but the one boy put the strongest poison in a drink of the other boys.
    The story endS with the death of three boys.

    hello Maribel,

    The three friends went under a tree and they found pieces of money. They decided to take the money at night.
    they maDe a plan;two boys stayed with the money and the other one took food and drink of his house.
    But,one of the boys WHO STAYED to satayed under a tree decided to kill the other friend to divide the money between the two boys.

    Finally, the young boy decided to kill the other two boys with a poison.
    But the two boys decided to stab the other one when he arrived.
    Then, when the boys killed him, they drank the wine with poison and they died.

    1-The story starts with three drunk youngsters that wanted revenge.
    They want to kill Death, the killer of their died DEAD friend.
    THEY decided to kill him before the day finished.

    2-They met an old man who wantED TO die.
    They ASKED answered him where is Death IS , saying that if he didn´t tell , he WOULD will pay the price. (2ND CONDITIONAL)
    Finally , the old man decided to say where IT WAS is he, saying that Death is in the forest, under of a tree.

    3-Under the tree THERE was a treasure and the leader tHought OF a false plan.The false plan consisted of: one of them goes to the city to buy some food and drink while the others are waiting near the treasure until night.
    But the true plan consists of : the leader and the other man simulated a wrestle with the man who went to town and suddenly , one of both of them stap him on the back.
    Then, when he finally dies, the mans who are alive will keep and divide the treasure.
