There are lots of festivals all around the world. In pairs you are going to choose one and explain it to your classmates.

I. Choose a festival from the list. Then click on the link below and write the name of the people in the group next to the festival.

My favourite TV programme

I. TV PROGRAMMES

Look at the list of TV programmes. 

  • Which do you like best?
  • Which do you not like at all?
  • What is interactive TV? Can you think of any examples?
  • Is TV the same as ten years ago? How is it different?

II. YOUR FAVOURITE PROGRAMME

Prepare a presentation about your favourite programme following this guideline:

  1. Information about the type of programme. Is it new or old? Is it Spanish? What TV channel is it on? Is it for teenagers, children…?
  2. The people in the programme. Is there a presenter? Are there contestants? What do people do in the programme?
  3. The time you watch or watched it. Do you watch it alone? Do the people in your family like it too?
  4. Why is it your favourite programme? What types of episode have you enjoyed most?

You can do your presentation with Power Point, Google slides, Prezi

Add pictures of your favourite programme or a video to illustrate your presentation, but, if you take pictures from the Internet, remember to add the source.

III. CLASS SURVEY

In groups of 4 people, find out the following information:

People are watching more TV, interactive TV, digital TV and the Internet mean that people spend more time looking at screens.

  • Think of two positive effects of having more TV programmes on offer
  • Think of two negative results for people watching more TV
  • Is having a TV in your bedroom a bad thing?
  • Do people have too many programmes to choose?
  • Do you think the quality of TV programmes is decreasing?
  • What do you think of the balance of programmes in your country?
  • Do some types of programme dominate?
  • Are there any types of programme you would like to see more of?
