The Millennials

– Do you know what the Millennials are? When do you think they were born? What different generation names do you know? Can you tell any differences between your parents’ generation and yours?

I. Before watching the video, match the words to the definitions:

1. outnumber a. a small piece of paper or other material that gives information about the thing it is fixed to.
2. spike b. a person’s way of understanding and thinking about something.
3. rejection c. how large or small something or someone is.
4. label d. to be larger in number than another group
5. break down something e. a very high amount, price or level, usually before a fall.
6. boost f. the act of refusing to accept or agree with something
7. size g. something that helps a situation increase or improve.
8. outlook h. to divide something into smaller parts

II. Now watch the video. Listen to the first part which is about the different generations that existed in the US and say if the statements below are true or false. (Up to 1:19)
