I. On St. Valentine’s Day we celebrate love. In pairs, comment on the following questions.

– What do you think people do on this day?

– Do you do something special?

– Do the people you know do something special?

– Do you know people who are very romantic on St. Valentine’s day but they aren’t the rest of the year?

II. So, what is love? Watch the following advert and comment on the questions.

III. Read the following 12 signs you may be in a toxic relationship. In groups of four, discuss what makes a HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP and note it down.

We are going to find out what the shopping habits in the class are.

In groups of 3 you are going to think of different topics related to shopping and make questions to the rest of the students in the class in order to create an infographic.

STEP 1. Brainstorm different topics related to shopping. For example: sales, saving up, shopping for technology, expensive clothes, etc.

STEP 2. Make 10 questions related to the topics you have chosen. Remember your questions must be YES/NO questions. Template.

For example: Have you bought more than 5 things on the last sales? 

STEP 3. Analyse your results and create an infographic with Genial.ly or Canva.

STEP 4. Present your results to the rest of the class.

SECTION A: VOCABULARY

  1. Write all the new words for you with the translation in Catalan and the sentence where they appear in the text.
  2. Classify the words according to the chapters, so write the 15 titles of the chapters to introduce the lists of words.

SECTION B: POINTS FOR UNDERSTANDING (pages 57-62)

  1. Copy questions.
  2. Write complete answers to the questions. Remember to use the same verb tenses.

SECTION C: EXERCISES (pages 63-68)

  1. Do the exercises about the story. 
  2. Only write the answers.

SECTION D: PERSONAL OPINION

Write a paragraph (50 words) giving your opinion about the book. Give solid arguments.

I. How often do you go to a restaurant? What is your favourite type of restaurant?

II. Think about a restaurant in Sant Boi you want to recommend to your classmates. Write a review following these steps:

  1. Name of the restaurant.
  2. Address
  3. Opening and closing hours.
  4. Type of food they offer.
  5. Your opinion and dishes you recommend.
  6. Why you like it.

III. Now go to Canva and make a poster for your restaurant. Then write a comment in the blog post about two restaurants your classmates recommended.

II. Go to LearnEnglishTeens to read a review about The Hunger Games . Then do the exercises below.

III. Now choose a film or a series you have seen and write your review. Follow the steps shown in the LearnEnglishTeens site:

  1. Start with the film’s title
  2. The type of film. When it was made.
  3. Explain the film’s story but don’t explain the ending!
  4. Your opinion of the film.
  5. Should people go and watch the film? Give it from 1 to 5 stars.
