During the first term, the Year 1 students have been working on the structure “Can I borrow…?”, a very useful and practical way to politely ask for something in English.

To practise what they had learned, the students took part in a fun and communicative activity. Working in pairs, they asked each other for different classroom objects. In this way, they not only practised the grammatical structure, but also improved their pronunciation, listening skills and confidence when speaking English.

As a final part of the activity, we recorded a video in which the students can be seen interacting with each other. The video reflects their motivation, progress and enjoyment in the English classroom.

During the second trimester, learning stations have been carried out in the first primary class. 

These stations help us to remember and practise everything we have studied so far this term.

The class is divided into 4 groups. Each group has a task, in this case two groups had to design their carnival costume, another one had to talk about a piece of clothing and finally, in the last table they had to read and write the words they had worked on using the 3D letters. Each group spends 10-15 minutes at the station so that everyone can practice several things in the same session.

During the month of December, before the Christmas holidays, our first graders prepared Christmas greetings letters for our classmates at Lola Anglada School. 

So, these letters were sent to the Lola Anglada school and we received theirs.

It was a very enriching experience and we were very happy to be able to share this experience with classmates from another school.

Dear families,

This week we have practiced speaking skills through games with our 1st grade students to review the winter clothes and colours.

It’s a great way to put into practice the structures and vocabulary learned in the unit and the most important thing is that our students had lots of fun!!!

Last week we celebrated Halloween in the school with our 1st and 2nd grade students.

We learned the Halloween vocabulary by telling stories and singing songs.  We coloured some Halloween creatures and did haunted houses!
