ENGLISH THEATRE!

Over the past few weeks, our Infant Education children have had the opportunity to enjoy two special English theatre performances at school. These activities are part of our ongoing effort to bring English to life in a fun, meaningful, and engaging way.

Our first play was “The Ugly Duckling,” a charming story set on a farm and full of friendly animals. The children loved meeting the different characters, participate and singing along.

The second play, “Santa’s Boots,” helped us dive into the festive spirit of Christmas. This performance also included animal characters and invited the children to laugh, and follow the story in English while learning new vocabulary connected to the holiday season.

Both plays encouraged the children to listen, interact, and enjoy English in a natural context, making language learning fun.

Here you have some pictures we take during the theater.

HALLOWEEN

During the pasts days our youngest learners have been celebrating Halloween in a very special way!

We read the story “Go Away, Big Green Monster!” by Ed Emberley. This is a fantastic book to help us learn and review the parts of the face in English. The children loved seeing the monster appear and disappear as we turned the pages!

After enjoying the story, each class worked on a creative Halloween activity:

I3: They painted a spooky Halloween picture.

I4 and I5: They created their own Big Green Monsters! They had so much fun designing their monsters, adding the eyes, nose, mouth, hair and ears.

LEARNING ABOUT SCHOOL SUPPLIES IN I5!

In our 5-year-old English class, we have been learning about school supplies in a fun and interactive way!

We started by singing a song to introduce the new vocabulary. Then, we practiced the words with flashcards and a worksheet, helping us connect the pictures, words, and sounds.

To keep practicing in a playful way, we set up learning stations around the classroom. Each station had a different activity to help reinforce the vocabulary:
At the first station, students completed a puzzle and said the word aloud.
At the second station, they threw a dice and named the object that appeared.
At the third station, they read the word and searched for the correct picture.
And at the last station, they played a memory game, saying each word when they found a matching pair.

1ST GRADE LEARNING STATIONS

During the second trimester, learning stations have been carried out in the first primary class.

These stations help us to remember and practise everything we have studied so far this term.

The class is divided into 4 groups. Each group has a task, in this case two groups had to design their carnival costume, another one had to talk about a piece of clothing and finally, in the last table they had to read and write the words they had worked on using the 3D letters. Each group spends 10-15 minutes at the station so that everyone can practice several things in the same session.

Here you have some photos about it.

4TH GRADE SCIENCE PROJECT

The fourth year students have carried out and completed a project on animals.

Through this project we have been able to review the types of animals according to whether they are vertebrates or invertebrates. In addition, they have been able to work collaboratively in teams and have developed their digital skills using the laptop.

Thus, each group has written information about an animal chosen by themselves. First they focused on physical characteristics, then their habitat and finally their type of nutrition.

So, each group made an oral presentation of their work.

Here you can find some pictures of the project.

3RD GRADE SCIENCE PROJECT

The third year students have completed a project about plants: “OUR GREEN WORLD”

During this project, they have been able to investigate the process of germination, the parts of plants and what plants need to live. All this has been done working as a team, as through the project we have learnt to work in a cooperative way and at the same time, we have practised searching for information on the internet.

Finally, each group researched a specific plant (chosen by themselves) and made an oral presentation of each one.

Here you can find some pictures of the project.

POSTCARD EXCHANGE 1st GRADE

During the month of December, before the Christmas holidays, our first graders prepared Christmas greetings letters for our classmates at Lola Anglada School.

So, these letters were sent to the Lola Anglada school and we received theirs.

It was a very enriching experience and we were very happy to be able to share this experience with classmates from another school.

Here are some pictures of the process and the exchange of letters.
