The class before Easter, the 3rd grade students did an Egg Hunt. It is one of the most famous traditions in the UK.
Their traditions are different than ours. In Britain, the eggs are very important. Eggs are a symbol of spring and new life. In the past, the eggs were real eggs (chicken eggs) hard boiled and dyed in various colours and patterns. But now, people replace real eggs for chocolate eggs.
The most important traditions are:
– Egg races: Real eggs are rolled downhill. The owner’s egg that stayed uncracked the longest, won the race.
– Holding eggs: You should hold an egg in the palm of your hand and bang against your opponent’s egg. The Loser is whose egg breaks the first.
– Easter bunny: In the UK children believe that if they are good the “Easter Bunny”will leave chocolate eggs.
– Egg hunt: Easter bunny hide chocolate eggs at home or in the garden. So, children have to hunt the eggs as fast as they can.
La classe abans de Setmana Santa, els alumnes de 3er vam fer una Cacera d’Ous de Pasqua. Aquesta és una de les tradicions més famoses d’UK.
LA PASQUA
Les tradicions dels anglesos són diferents de les nostres. A Gran Bretanya, els ous són molt importants. Els ous són el símbol de la primavera i d’una nova vida. En el passat, els ous eren reals (ous de gallina) bullits i un cop secs es decoraven de diferents colors i formes. Però ara, la gent els ha reemplaçat per ous de xocolata.
Les tradicions més importants són:
– Cursa d’Ous: Ous de gallina es tiren rodolant per la pendent d’un turó. El propietari de l’ou que arribi més avall sense trencar-se, és el guanyador.
– Aguanta els ous: s’ha d’aguantar un ou amb el palmell de la mà i colpejar el de l’altre. El perdedor és al qui se li trenca primer l’ou.
– Conillet de Pasqua: A Anglaterra els nens i nenes creuen que si són bons el Conillet de Pasqua els portarà ous de xocolata.
– Cacera d’Ous: El Conillet de Pasqua amaga ous per dins de casa o al jardí. Aleshores, els nens i nenes han de buscar els ous el més ràpid que puguin.
