1st Arpil is Fools’ Day in the UK!
One of the most popular practical jokes is the whoopee cushion.
You blow air into the cushion. You put the cushion on someone’s chair. When they sit down, the cushion makes a noise. It’s hilarious!

It isn’t only people who play practical jokes. Sometimes television channels do it, too. On 1st April 2008, people in the UK watched a documentary about penguins on television. The documentary showed penguins flying. Penguins can’t fly, but many people believed the documentary!

We celebrate Easter at different times of the year, sometimes in March and sometimes in April.
At Easter children decorate eggs in different colours. They hide chocolate Easter eggs in the garden. Then, they look for them and next, they eat them.
They also eat HOT CROSS BUNS. Mmmm… delicious!
There is a SONG about them. It says…
Hot cross buns,
Hot cross buns,
one a penny,
two a penny,
hot cross buns.
If you have no daughters,
give them to your sons,
one a penny,
two a penny,
Hot Cross Buns
And it sounds like this:
