In 1949, George Lerner invented a plastic toy called Mr. Potato Head. At first, the toy was not a success. But in 1952, Mr. Potato Head appeared in a television commercial. Then every child wanted the toy. Today, Mr. Potato Head is one of the most popular toys in the world. He is also a character in the “Toy Story” films.

Otros, sin embargo, aseguran que el adjetivo “negro” tiene su origen en el 19 de noviembre de 1975, cuando The New York Times utilizó por primera vez el epíteto haciendo alusión al desbarajuste del tránsito y el caos que se habían producido aquel año en la ciudad debido a los descuentos del día posterior a “Acción de gracias”.
