PRIMARY 1 & 2.- ANIMALS: RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. WHAT A NICE PERFORMANCE!

 

THIS MORNING,  PRIMARY 1 & 2 KIDS WERE TO “LA PLANETA” THEATRE HALL TO SEE THE PERFORMANCE: “RUDOLPH” IN ENGLISH.

WHAT GREAT FUN THEY HAD! THE COULD SEE RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER AND HIS FRIENDS THE REINDEERS, FATHER CHRISTMAS AND THE ICE QUEEN.

THE ICE QUEEN WAS VERY SAD BECAUSE FATHER CHRISTMAS NEVED BROUGHT HER A GIFT… BUT RUDOLPH, THE VERY WISE REINDEER, SOLVED THE PROBLEM AND ALL WERE VERY HAPPY.

YES, DANIEL IS TOTALLY RIGHT! AND PRIMARY 5 KIDS DID STUDY FOOD CHAINS AND IN THE ICT LESSONS THEY DRAWED AND WROTE ABOUT THEM.

IN THE ICT LESSON WE ARE DEALING WITH E-MAIL SENDING WITH AN IMAGE INSERTED. PRIMARY 5 KIDS SENT ME AN IMAGE SHOWING WHAT THEY DO IN THEIR FREE TIME/AT THE WEEKENDS, AND LEARNED HOW TO INSERT AN IMAGE IN AN EMAIL AND HOW TO SEND IT.

PRIMARY 6 ICT IN ENGLISH.- TO PARENTS

TWO QUESTIONS FOR PARENTS:

WHAT IS ICT? WHY DO WE LEARN ICT?

To promote children’s use of ICT as a tool for learning, develop the necessary skills to achieve this and also to develop their understanding of its everyday use:

  • Children should have access to a wide range of familiar resources which are intuitive and accessible to develop their technological understanding.
  • Technology should be integrated in role play to reflect the world around us.
  • Children should be encouraged to work co-operatively, share  knowledge, skills and enjoyment.
  • ICT should be integrated throughout the Foundation Phase curriculum, developing a skills based approach to computer use which encourages control of the equipment.
  • ICT should be used to communicate widely, such as with parents other agencies, between children and staff.
  • Appropriate use of the internet should be encouraged by children and staff as a potential source of knowledge and to support learning.  (from www.learn-ict.org.uk)
