What is matter and what have we done to learn it?

This project is called Our restaurant and, I’m going to tell you about what is matter. In class we learnt that matter is in everything that has mass and volume.

We did some activities to understand what matter is. First of all we had to write down ten things that were made of matter in our handout. Then we had another question to answer, we had to describe the three states of matter and some other questions. After that we had to complete a text with some words that we had on the top of the exercise.

After some days, we did a mind map that explained us the pure substances and the mixtures. It also explained the elements, compounds and the homogeneous and the heterogeneous mixtures.IMG_20170608_183939 states_matter_1

Dense and Light foods

  • In this project we ahve done a lot of experiments, and one of them is the “Dense and Light foods”. This was a pretty cool expirement because we had to calculate the volume, density and the mass of a food, liquid or an object! As we were doing the calculations we had to write it down in our handout, we had to complete 8 different objects,liquids or foods! As a result, we had the volume, density and the mass of a Tomato, WallNut, Corch, Oil, Water…It was interesting because you could practise how to know the mass, the density and the volume of an regular or irregular object or of a liquid.

Salt

eeeHello, my name is Blai and now i’ll explain you what we learened at today’s class.

Firstly, the teacher explain us that salt is pure. Then, we saw a video about the component of salt that are Na and Cl. The person of the video said that the two substances are toxic but if you mix them they do something essential fpor our life!

TREBALL EN GRUP

El treball en grup d’aquest projecte ha estat una mica diferent dels altres, perquè a l’hora de fer els exercisis del dossier els feiem amb el grup de taula, però cada parella del grup tenia un arbre diferent per estudiar, per això cada vegada que ens tocava estudiar o fer el producte final del nostre arbre, no treballavem en grups, sinó en parelles.

El proposit de l’assignatura projectes és treballar en grup així aprenem arespectar les opinions dels altres i a saber fer diferents coses en conjunt amb altres companys. Això es el que fem en cada projecte i el que intentem millorar dia a dia.

A partir del planol del nostre barri que hem apres?

El projecte que estem fent es diu els “Arbres del camp escolar”. Hem de fer un exercici que és dibuixar el plànol del nostre barri.

Fent el plànol del meu barri he consultat el Google maps. Es veu clarament l’organització de l’espai. Dona una imatge general del la zona i ens permet ubicar-nos.

Els carrers tenen el nom, també es diferencia els edificis dins de cada carrer. Puc identificar fàcilment casa meva, puc trobar identificats els diferents edificis de serveis com ara: clínica Perpetuo Socorro, Hospital Vithas Montserrat, la biblioteca pública, el Café del Teatre de l’Escorxador i l’espai 3… També hi ubico l’escola Episcopal però cal esmentar que no hi veig la meva. (Pràctiques 1)

Es diferencien les zones verdes i la plaça de l’Escorxador. El plànol està fet a escala i la proporció dels espais i edificis ens dona informació. En el plànol aprenc que s’han de mantenir les proporcions i porcions de cada lloc.

Geocatching

Avui hem fet l’activitat anomenada “Geoctching” als Camps Elisis de Cappont:

Aquesta activitat consistia en localitzar arbres que els professors havien elegit previament. Els alumnes teníem en grups de 4 un paper on hi havia diferents pistes per trobar el arbres.

En unes havies de resoldre un patró per poder així aconseguir les coordenades d’aquest arbre i poder localitzar-lo. En altres havies de trobar la direcció on estava l’arbre. Unes altres et demanaven alguna dada del arbre que haviem trobat…

Finalmet, m’agradaria afegir que és una activitat molt entretinguda i molt bona per poder millorar en l’orientació.

COMENÇEM UN NOU PROJECTE

Hem començat el projecte de els arbres del camp escolar en el que estudiarem els arbres que ens envolten pel camp escolar.

La finalitat es publicar un mapa a un pagina wep anomenada EDULOC on senyalarem la pocisió exacta i dona informació de cada arbre.

En el projecte també aprendrem a identificar un punt a partir de unes cordenades cartografiques . També aprendrem a orientar-nos amb bruixola.

LAP BOOKS

When we started the project “The Renewables”, our teacher told us that the final product will be a lap book. This was a new challenge for us! 💡 So when we finished the project, the teachers gave us some lap books that the students from 2nd and 3rd of ESO made the years before. They were awesome!

The lap book had three pages. one to explain what energy is, another one to explain our energy and the cover. There were many ways to explain the information: wheels, envelopes, laps…

In my group, in the cover, we wrote the title, our superhero and the power cards. In the first page we explained what global warming is, the advantages and disadvantages and the greenhouse effect. In the second page we explained the advantages and disadvantages of our energy and how our energy works.

All the lap books were very nice! 😛

Hem fet un mapa topogràfic

  • En aquest projecte hem estat estudiant alguns tipus de mapes diferents. Un d’ells ès el mapa topogràfic, que significa un mapa on hi ha representació gràfica a escala d’una àrea/lloc determinat/da de la superfície terrestre: Aquesta representació és fruit d’un procés d’interpretació de tots els elements territorials. Aleshores, un dia a classe va tocar fer-ne un, no era fàcil el repte però alfinal, ho vam aconseguir.
