Dear 3rd B students,
Do you like English music? Which type of music do you like? Pop, rock, reggae, classical music?
Here you have our next assignment: we’re going to create a soundtrack.
Follow the steps for this task:
1. Go to www.lyricstraining.com (you don’t need to register).
2. Choose a song that you like from the list or search for another one.
3. Select a game mode: beginner or intermediate. If you want a real challenge, choose advanced or even expert!
4. Then, choose the “CHOICE MODE“, and start the game.
5. When you finish the song, take a screenshot with your results on it (Total score, gaps, hits, fails and bonus).
6. You need to practise with 2 songs: American and British English.
7. Send me an email with the 2 screenshots (irene.zambrano@pladelbosc.cat).
8. Write a comment on this article, with your name and explaining the following information:
- Which are the two songs that you have chosen? (TITLE OF THE SONGS).
- Who is the singer/group?
- Why do you like them?
- What do they explain? (TOPIC of the song)
- Which is easier/more difficult for you to understand? American or British English?
9. Add your two songs in the playlist that I have created in Youtube. You need to subscribe to my channel and to the playlist (“guardar lista de reproducción”). Then, at the top of the page, on the right, you click the option “CONTINUAR“. 3rd B Playlist
IMPORTANT: If you see that your song is already in the list, then you have to choose to another one. The songs CAN’T be repeated!!
At the end of the term we will listen to them!
The deadline for this task is next Tuesday 20th October at 10pm. You need to do all the steps of the activity in order to pass it!

It is sung by a group called “Starship”.
Because this song reminds me of a person that I appreciate very much.
That despite everything that people say, do or think, nobody is going to stop them and they will continue with their way and with their dream.
Stolen Dance(British Song).
A group called “Milky Chance”.
Because I like the meaning of the lyrics and the rhythm it takes.
It is about a person who had someone very important by his side and people, with comments, pushed her away and that person wants her by his side again, so as not to feel alone and have a good time as before.
I choosen Waiting for love from Avicci and Roxanne from Arizona Zervas.
I choosen Waiting for love because it makes me feel better and because this song is very beautiful for me.
I choosen Roxanne for the rhythm and because it’s very wilted.
Waiting for love talks about of how the love wins everithing else.
Roxanne talks about a man who falls in love of a prostitute and he says her that she deserves a better work.
For me, the British English is more difficult to understand.
Blueberry Faygo (British Song).
Singer: Lil mosey.
I choosen them because it makes me feel better.
The name of the lyrics is a drink that the singer created, so to promote it I put out that song.
Ice Tray (American Song).
Singers: Quality Control, Quavo, Lil Yachty.
I choosen them because is one of my favourite songs.
The song explains why they have so many jewels
For me the British English is more difficult.
Breathin(American)
It’s song by Ariana Grande
I like because I love her voice.
It’s about the anxiety she has when the Manchester’s attack concerts , and despite everything she tries to get ahead and continue to “breathin” althoug sometimes it costs.
Barking(British)
It’s sung by Ramz
I like because I remember when I go to London with my family, and I stay in Barking town
The song talk about relationship between one boy and girl. The other guys are envious
because she’s very beautiful and his boyfriend he’s not in love.
Hi Irene.
I have chosen the song “Genius”, from LSD (Labrinth, Sia and Diplo). It is a British English song.
I like it very much because it has a lot of rhythm ! And the video clip is crazy !!
It clearly is a love song. Labrinth is in love with Sia, and people say that only a genius could love a woman like Sia.
I don’t specially like romantic songs, but I think this one is cool !
The second song I have chosen is “Stan”, from Eminem. It is an American English song.
I like it because I like the way Eminem sings and the story of the song is really incredible.
The song is about the tragic (and fictional) story of an Eminem fan named Stan. This fan loves Eminem so much that he doesn’t stop writing to him. But, realizing that the rapper wasn’t answering his letters, he kills his girlfriend, who was pregnant, and then commits suicide.
Now, “Stan” is a term for a fan losing reason for a personality he admires.
Normally, when I watch a movie or a series, it is easier for me to understand the British English. But in this case, I understand both of the songs equally.
I have chosen Happier by Ed Sheeran(British English).
-I like this song because the letter of the song was very easier and the song and the videoclip were lovely.
-That song expalins the Ed’s relationship with his ex and he says that he isn’t as happy as before.
The second song I have chosen is Roses by Saint JHN(American English)
-I love this song because the rhythm was incredible and fabulous.
-I don’t really understand the meaning of this song but it has something to do with the party.
-For me, is much easier the British English(for the accent), the American English it’s a little more complicated for me.
Memories (American song )
It’s song by Maroon 5
I choose them because the lyrics is catchy
It’s a story about a boy who drinks to remember the people he has lost.
Don’t go Chaning ( British song)
It’s song by Aly & AJ
This song it relaxes me
He is boy who is afraid that his girlfriend will change him for another and do not believe in love.
For my the British English is more difficult.
-I chose the song Hello. (British Song)
-This song is by Adele.
-I like this song beacause I listen this song in my house many times.
-I chose Believer. (American Song)
-This song is by Imagine Dragons.
-I like this song beacause I used to listen to it in the gym with my father and my brother two years ago.
-The American song cost me more because I didn’t understand it so well.

The names of the songs are memories and perfect.
The group of memories is Maroon 5 and the singer of the perfect is Ed Sherran.
I like those this songs because they have very beautiful lyrics and are sentimental.
Memories is about a loss of something or someone.
Perfect is about a love story between two people.
For me the american english is more difficult.
