Chinese New Year 19

The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, has more than 4,000 years of history and is the longest holiday of the year (15 days).

In 2019, Spring Festival officially begins on February 5th  and ends with the Lantern Festival on February 19th.

An important aspect of Chinese Culture is a zodiac system. It has existed in Chinese culture since the Qin dynasty, more than 2,000 years ago.

There are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, and they repeat every 12 years. This year is the year of the PIG.

Here are some characteristics of people belonging to the PIG zodiac:

Lucky things for Pigs

  • Colors: yellow, grey, brown
  • Numbers: 2, 5, 8
  • Mineral: agate

Unlucky things

  • Colors: blue, green
  • Numbers: 1, 7, 9

eTWINNING PROJECT – 18-19

 

This year pupils in 6è are going to develop an international project, THERE IS A CASTLE IN OUR TOWN, together with a school from Montagnana, Italy, and another from Vsechovice, Czech Republic.

We will speak about castles and the different towns, and also about our likes and dislikes.

It will be interesting!!!!
