The 2018 Chinese New Year begins on Friday, February 16.

Chinese New Year takes place on a different date each year, because it is based on the lunar calendar.

The first day of the Chinese New Year falls on the New Moon, and it normally falls between January 21 and February 20.

2018 is the Year of the Dog.  (The year of the Earth Dog)

According to the Asian astrology, your year of birth – and the animal this represents – determines a lot about your personality traits.

Anyone born in an Earth Dog year will be communicative, serious, and responsible in the workplace.

November 23rd 2017, THANKSGIVING DAY

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have.

 

Thanksgiving Day parades are held in some cities and towns on or around Thanksgiving Day. Some parades or festivities also mark the opening of the Christmas shopping season. Some people have a four-day weekend so it is a popular time for trips and to visit family and friends.

BONFIRE NIGHT 2017

On the 5th of November it is a tradition that children make images of Guy Fawkes (and sometimes modern politicians), called “Guys,” and take them around the streets.

They show these Guys to people and ask them for “a penny for the Guy.” They then use this money to buy fireworks.
