CHRISTMAS. Story: WHERE IS SANTA’S SLEIGH? (2nd grade)

St Andrew’s Day (Patron Saint of Scotland)
(30 November) It is regarded as Scotland’s National Day and it marks the opening of Christmas markets . Around midnight on Nov. 29, the day before St Andrew’s Day, it was traditional for girls to pray to St. Andrew for a husband. They would make a wish and look for a sign that they had been heard.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW (Salma, 1st grade)
Salma (1st B) has brought a CD to class: her favourite song, SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW in different versions. Well, here you can find the videos of 2 of its singers: Israel Kamakawiwo’ole and Judy Garland. I agree with Salma: this is just a great song, emotive too.

Dear children,
Get ready beacause this week we are going to learn this great song to work on prepositions. Practise it and guess where Mr. Monkey is!
