3rd graders carried out an experiment in the laboratory to find out about some basic properties of water: water is colourless (it has no colour), odourless (it has no smell) and tasteless (it has no flavour). They had to compare a glass of water and a glass of orangeade by looking at both liquids, smelling them and tasting them. Then they poured a bit of oil in the water and observed what happened: oil and water don’t mix because water is heavier than oil!

The Alphabet Rap
Autumn Woods Scene
Look at the picture and try to answer the following questions:
What colour leaves can you see?
What animal can you see in the tree?
What is the boy under the tree doing?
What are the two children doing?
Where are the children?
Have you ever been to the woods?
Who did you go to the woods with?
What did you see in the woods?
Poem: Autumn Leaves
Leaves are brown,
They’re falling on the ground!
Leaves are red,
Leaves are red,
They’re falling on my head!
Orange leaves fall,
On them I’ll crawl!
Yellow leaves falling,
Autumn is calling!
On them I’ll crawl!
Yellow leaves falling,
Autumn is calling!
