NIM

Dear kids,

NIM is an ancient mathematical game of strategy.

Instructions: Markers are placed in three piles e.g. 3, 5 and 7. Then players take turns at removing any number of markers from a pile. The player to pick up the last marker, wins. 😎

TANGRAM TANGLES

We just love this ancient Chinese puzzle!

Instructions: Players sit back to back. Each player has the 7 tangram pieces in front of them. Then players are told to make a design at the same time. Can you make a triangle/square/rectangle/an animal shape using all the pieces?

Touchy-Feely Books

First grader children have been working on the five senses, parting from well-known story “The Very Busy Spider”, by Eric Carle. They made their own class book suitable for visually impaired children. They made the main distinguishing features of each animal using different materials, such as glitter, buttons, pipe cleaners, wool, cotton, thread, etc.

Where’s Norton? (1st and 2nd grades)

Dear  children,

Last Monday a very special witch visited our school: Mrs. Witch from England. She was wearing a witch hat and a dark dress with a nasty spider on it. She even had a potion boiling in a cauldron! Her mascot was a ghost… Boo!

But then she disappeared and she just left this note:

She took Norton the parrot with her. She swapped her ghost for Norton!

This photo proves it:

How can we rescue Norton? 😥

IDEA! Our 2nd graders wrote a nice letter to Mrs. Witch:
