There is a workgroup in El Prat whose aim is to promote the English language among its citizens, especially students from primary and secondary schools.

The name of this workgroup is “El Prat s’obre al món, l’anglès n’és la clau” (El Prat opens up to the world: English is the key).  Different organisms from the town participate in it:  the Town Council, the Official Language School (EOI), the Resource Center from the Education Department and several schools and high schools, among which IES Baldiri Guilera stands out.

 The workgroup is taking actions to implement English.  These are: an English summer school for children, an only-English-spoken radio program in the Ràdio Prat station, theater plays in English for students of primary and secondary school, etc.  In addition, this year the workgroup is involved in a European project that implies an exchange between two high schools: IES Baldiri Guilera and a Belgian center.

 Therefore, our school, which already participates in a “Pla Experimental de Llengües Estrangeres” (2006-2009) with ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) students,  wants to launch a very exciting, innovative and enriching project for its 1st of Batxillerat (Post-obligatory Education) students.
