Last Wednesday a group of 2nd ESO students participated in the 8th High School Theatre Festival that took place at Teatre Principal d’Olot. The other participating high schools from la Garrotxa were: Bosc de la Coma High School, Salvador Vilarrasa High School and Petit Plançó High School.
Each school performed a play that had been written by the students themselves. Our school participated with the play “The Crown”.
The Theatre Festival was the result of a work process that had been carried out throughout the school year. First, the process of writing scripts, which was hard and long: creating a meaningful story, dividing it into acts and scenes, and drawing credible characters and settings. Then, the distribution of the roles and the rehearsals with the help of Mr. Joan Fluvià, of CRP Garrotxa. And finally, performing in the theatre, in front of a large audience of students and teachers from different schools with great excitement.
It was a nice experience. They all did it very well and the performance was a success! But above all, the students had learned to work as a team, to be creative, to overcome shyness and to communicate not only with words, but also with the whole body,
Today our 2nd ESO students are performing it again in front of 3rd and 4th ESO students in our school. We hope they enjoy and like it as much as we have enjoyed preparing the play!
