I was born to love you (Queen)
Hello mates! I posted this wonderful song for you in case you want to sing it to your loved one or ones!! Learn the lyrics, practise a little bit under the shower and they will all be at your feet! It’s maaaaaagggggggiiiiiiiiiccccccc!!
Introduce yourself project
The aim of this project is to make my students record their own voices introducing themselves and telling a few things about their personality, hobbies, interests…
It does not have to be very long! 30 seconds will be enough!
In order to do this project, you will need a programme called Audacity, it’s free, download it, install it and use it! Record your 30 second presentation, export it to an mp3 file and send it to me to smorales@xtec.cat. After that, post a comment informing me you did the exercise and sent it to me.
Here is my introduction, listen to it, I hope you enjoy it! Then get a microphone and talk to the world!
The Terminal
Feel free to express your opinions on the film we watched in class. I would like to hear from you as soon as possible.
Remember that movies, apart from the main story, communicate important topics through particular scenes in the movie. In the Terminal the shot where Gupta stops the plane with the mope is a very good example, isn’t it?
Site for verb tense revision
Hi! I surfed the net looking for a site to practise verb tenses and I came across this one http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/verbtenseintro.html. Have alook and tell me if it is of any help.
THE BRITISH MUSEUM
Esther! Here is your exercise on verb tenses!
Esther asked me for an exercise on verb tenses. I think this is the one she was referring to in her comment. Do it and if you need the answers, let me know!!!

gonna, ’cause and somethin’
Hi Joan,
First of all, thank you for your comment, you are the first student to have used the blog, there should be some kind of prize for you, but, unfortunately, I haven’t got any, just be happy to be NUMBER ONE in this blog.
Well, expressions such as ’cause , gonna and somethin’ are nothing but a way to represent how the words because, going to and something are sometimes pronounced in conversation. We all know the difference between formal pronunciation and informal pronunciation, don’t we? We have plenty of examples in Spanish and Catalan: Me he doblado el dedo can be pronounced /m’he doblao el deo/ but you would never write that, would you? Or in Catalan he anat al mercat can be pronounced /he ‘nat al mercat/ and you wouldn’t write that either, right?
When writing, make sure to write words properly, especially in tests and papers at school. Use colloquial expressions only when given permission by the teachers.
Well, Joan I hope you find this information useful. I am looking forward to hearing from you again.
I know the phonetic transcription shown above is not correct but I think students will understand what I mean and see the point. No time now for phonetics!!!
