Year 4: Troll competition

Pupils in year 4 have created their own trolls. They have drawn a picture of a troll, they have invented a name for their trolls and have written a short description. The favourite trolls in the class are:
1st: “JIMMY” –> Ariadna’s troll
2nd: “SHAROL” –> Scarlet’s troll
3rd: “TINA” –> Tania’s troll

Congratulations girls!!
The other trolls were very nice, too! Great job!troll_tns

Quiz!

Dear Year 5

On Thursday, we are going to have a quiz about colour shades. The quiz will also have questions about the artist Henri Rousseau.

Click on the picture to read Henri Rousseau’s biography ——->

Also, don’t forget to look again at last month’s “Monkeys in the Orange Grove” presentation!

Rousseau’s “biography” is the story of his life. Because it happened in the past, it is written in the past tense. To help you, the past tense words in Rousseau’s biography are highlighted with a darker shade.

Click here to learn more about using the past tense in English.

See you Thursday! It will be our last lesson together 🙁

Somewhere over the rainbow…

Hello Year 6!

Firstly, thank you very much for performing “The Wizard of OZ” for my mum last week. She was really delighted and thinks you are all wonderful! She says thank you.

rainbowThe play is starting to sound really good. To help you practice, I have recorded myself saying all of the lines in the script.

Here are the links to the recordings:

Wizard of Oz Act I, Wizard of Oz Act II, Wizard of Oz Act III, Wizard of Oz Act IV, Wizard of Oz Act V, Wizard of Oz Act VI, Wizard of Oz Act VII, Wizard of Oz Act VIII

Listen to the recordings and pay attention to how the words are pronounced and stressed.

For example, in English we DON’T usually stress the last word in a sentence, as you can see in this line from Act I:

‘I want to talk to YOU and your WIFE about Dorothy.’

Only the words in capitals are stressed in this sentence.

Note! I have made some mistakes in the recordings (especially Act VII). Sorry! I only had an old version of the script and couldn’t remember the correct words!

All the best,
Sonia

Monkeys in the Orange Grove

Hello Year 5!

As promised, here is yesterday’s presentation about Henri Rousseau’s “Monkeys in the Orange Grove” – click on the picture to see it!

Just for fun, see if you can name some of the different shades of green used in the picture.

Remember to bring leaves and pictures of jungle animals to class next week to make your own jungle pictures!
