Music, that simple thing that makes you feel sad, alone, happy, in love… Everybody feels that when they are listening to music, everybody except Aria. Aria was sixteen years old and at the age of ten, her mother, a very good musician died in a tragical accident, since then, Aria has never played music again.

Aria was a shy girl, and since her mother’s accident she moved from one country to another for six years, until that moment, when her father decided to return to the village where they lived with his mother to start over.

So Aria had to start again in another High School. First day of school, Aria was entirely alone, but at the way back home, she met a guy, his name was Caleb.

Caleb lived in the village for two years, he was 17 years old and he played the guitar and was the lead singer of a band. Aria felt good when she was with Caleb, they spent all day together, they went to the cinema, to the park…One day Caleb asked her If she wanted to be in the first Caleb’s band concert. She didn’t want to answer, because Aria never told anyone about her mother and music. So the only thing Aria did was get out of there. She ran away from Caleb. They were in a bench, looking how the snow was falling, and she ran. Caleb was surprised and at time he was sad. He invited her to that concert to tell Aria that he loved her so much. Caleb though Aria ran away because she didn’t want to go out with him so he became upset.

Aria was running, fast, and crying, and thinking about her mom, thinking about Caleb, about music. She didn’t want to think. The only thing Aria wanted was silence. Silence and anything else. Because anything mattered. She was running nowhere. And suddenly she fell off in the cold ground. But she continued crying, a lot, about her mother, about Caleb, about her dad and all the high schools and all the people that ignored her when she was just sad. After that, silence. There was no noise. Aria thought she was dead, but no, she had luck. She was in a hospital, and there was her dad. Her dad saw that she was waking up, so he looked to her and said ‘Aria, you had an accident, a car hit you while you were running. Luckily, you are fine, you only have Little bruises. It can sound weird but, I think your mom was protecting you, she does all the time.’ Aria smiled, and tears fell off of her eyes, suddenly she realized that it was the time to start over, for her mother.

Caleb was one of the reasons to start over, so she decided to start her new life in the better way. She stood up of the bed, and she put on her clothes.

Her dad started driving, she was late. When they were there, she entered in the room, it was full of people, and she listened to the voice of Caleb, singing.

Aria smiled. She liked the sound. Aria didn’t remember how music sounds. It was great. Caleb saw her. And he helped her to go up at the stage. He started singing a song, for her. And finally they kissed. And after that moment, Aria’s life won’t be the same, and she won’t neither.
