Funny Carnival

On Friday 8th of February Eladi Homs School celebrated Carnival.
Everybody, pupils and teachers participated in the Carnival parade down the streets around the school. We were wearing fancy dresses. The school looked like a Zoo: teachers and pupils were snails, ladybirds, woodpeckers, bees, butterflies, manatees, octopus, ponies, spiders, iguanas and tritons.
Parents were in the streets looking at the parade, taking pictures and recording videos.
Some primary 5 pupils carried Mr Carnestoltes and primary 6 boys and girls played music in a band
We also decorated the school main hall with Carnival decorations made by pupils.
We enjoyed it a lot.

We also went to the decorations store and workshop. After that, we went to the mobile units garage and then we visited a very interesting area where make up, hairdressing and clothes are performed.

A visit to the old town squares in Valls

On Monday 28th May, Iguanas, Bats, Lemurs and Tritons went with their teachers and the language assisstant to visit the different squares of the old town in Valls: el Pati, l’Oli, Blat, Escolans, Escudelles, la Fusta, les Garrofes, Portal Nou, el Carme, sant Francesc, la Zeta and sant Jordi.
We started at school, went to El Pati square and the pupils of Tritons explained to us the information about the origin of its name, festivities, artistic and architectural details, history etc of this square.
Then, after having breakfast we divided into 4 groups. Each group had to follow a different route from square to square. In each square, a different pupil talked about the origin of the name, festivities Valls citizens celebrate in it, the history, the situation in the map, important monuments and buildings etc. Some pupils took photos and recorded videos. When we finished the route we went to La Candela school for lunch. We played a football match, Eladi Homs against La Candela. At quarter to three, we went back to our school.
It was a funny activity because we went around the streets looking at the map, and we discovered some new places in town.
