Laia, our guest
On Tuesday 11th October Claudia’s cousin came to our English class. Her name is Laia Batet Ogea. When she was 19 years old she went to the USA for learning English. She told us about her travels and countries she visited: Italy, France, the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain. She explained to our class the main traditions of the USA like Halloween, Christmas and Thanks Giving Day. She also told about sports, food, the weather and her studies and friends in the High School. Laia’s favourite sport is dancing and she likes baseball.
With her, we had the opportunity to speak and learn English.
We enjoyed her visit a lot.

Egg Painting Competition
The children of Primary 5 in Eladi Homs School participated in an Easter Egg Painting competition.
What’s an Egg Painting competition?
It is an art competition related with the Easter festivity in England. Pupils use a hard-boiled egg. When the egg is cold, they decorate it and create an original design. Pupils become real artists!
Easter Bonnet Competition 2015
The children of Primary 6 in Eladi Homs School participated in an Easter Bonnet competition.
What is a bonnet?
A bonnet is a hat.
What’s an Easter Bonnet competition?
It is an art competition related with the Easter festivity in England. The pupils make a bonnet decorated with Easter things: chicks, eggs, feathers, bunnies, palms, candles, letters, Easter colours, flowers, etc.
It is an interesting activity because you have to think of some ideas and create an original design. It is funny. The bonnets are very pretty, and we are very proud of them.
The guest
On friday 29th January our classmate Cristian Arenas presented us his cousin Andrés.
Andrés told us about his experiences living and visiting many different countries around the world, like Venezuela, Qatar, Dubai, Ireland, Scotland, England, Spain, Italy…
The children asked him questions about his life and he answered all of them very kindly and proud.
We had a great time with our guest. With him, we had the opportunity to speak and learn English.
We enjoyed his visit a lot and he inspired us to travel!
Recording the school song
On Thursday the 28th of January, the children of primary 5 and primary 6 went to Pau Casals musical learning centre.
First, they had breakfast. Later, they divided in 3 groups. While one of them was recoding the school song «You’re the centre of this centre» in Catalan and in English, another group was printing a t-shirt using the spicke of crayons. The third groug was designing the cover for the school song CD. Then they changed the acvtivities and everybody did everything.
After lunch the children recorded the “secret song” and also a short video to show their imagination.
Finally, they returned to school by bus.
It was a great experience!
Visiting Valls library
On Tuesday the 29th of September the Dragonflies class, primary 6, went to Carles Cardó library in Valls.
There, we went around to know how libraries are organized, to know all the library services, we read some books and we watched a video rapport about the origins of libraries and Valls library history.
The library is great!
The visit was very interesting.
Go to the library, it’s a very amazing place!
Peter Pan
On Wednesday, 27th May the children of primary 5 performed the story of «Peter Pan».
There was some magic, a battle, a pirate ship, a pirate party… We saw a fairy, Peter Pan and children fliying,. We visited London and Never Never Land. They sang, they fought, they laughed…
It was great!
We enjoyed the performance a lot.
