A finals del segle XX, amb l’aparició de molts aparells electrònics amb diferents finalitats.  Molts cantants i grups musicals van voler experimentar sonoritats diferents mitjançant  aquests aparells. Avui en dia, es poden utilizar, però està tot digitalitzat amb programes  informàtics, APPs o plugins.
TALK BOX

És un dispositiu d’efectes que permet modificar el so que té un instrument  mitjançant l’obertura de la boca. Aquest efecte es pot utlitzar amb la guitarra  o amb el teclat. Es composa d’un pedal d’efectes i porta incorporat un tub de plàstic que  l’artista es posa a la boca per parlar.

VOCODER
Nom derivat de voice coder (codificador de veu), és un analitzador i sintetitzador de veu. S’inventà els 1930 com a codificador de veu, és a dir, era un aparell per enviar missatges  en veu xifrada.
