Hey, here you have the speaking activity of the THIRD TERM. Time flies, doesn’t it?!

You’ve been given a TOPIC related to the life of Shakespeare who is considered to be the world’s greatest playwright.

  • The life of Shakespeare (1564-1616).
  • Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603).
  • The plague hits London (1593).
  • The Globe Theatre opens (1599).
  • Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot (1605).
  • Most relevant plays:
    • Tragedies: Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet
    • Comedies: Much Ado About Nothing, Midsummer Night’s Dream
  1. Introduce the group.
  2. Introduction of the topic (parts you will divide your presentation). See outlines.
  3. Body. Explanation of the different parts.
  4. Conclusion.

ART WEEK 2017

Hi class!

Here we are in the Art Week 2017! This year’s topic is FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION. The highest levels at our school, 3rd and 4th ESO, will be working on Science Fiction, and within the English subject you will be asked to make a PLANET from papier maché and talk about the colour of your planet. Here you have a few directions so that you can accomplish the goal.

  1. Watch a video on how to make a planet from papier maché.

2. Study the dossier below and decide which colour is your planet going to symbolize.

3. Prepare a short oral exposition explaining the following points:

  • How you made the planet.
  • What does the colour mean for the planet and the residents. Give as many reasons as possible for your option.

You’ve been told to write about a gadget. Follow the instructions to do the writing task. Remember that you’ll have to vote for the group who best persuaded you 😉

  1. Read the model carefully.
  2. Sketch a draft about:
    1. Number of paragraphs (spot introductions, body and conclusion).
    2. Arguments FOR the gadget (which positive features are mentioned?)
    3. Argument AGAINST the gadget.
    4. Connectors.
  3. Write 2 arguments in favour of your gadget. Use present simple and the  vocabulary in unit 4.
  4. Give examples to support your arguments.
  5. Complete the frame with the information in steps 3 and 4.
  6. Give it to your teacher so that she can correct it.
  7. Write the final version and draw/print a picture of the best gadget ever.
