Hollywood is a districit of California, in the Los Angles metropolitna area. The biggest cinema studios in the world, like Universal or Paramount, are located there, and it’s there that many of the big blockbusters come to life. To make a great film a lot of people are needed and it’s imporant that they work together and put a lot of effort into making sure the final result is appealing to audiences.

The most expensive movie in history

Have you seen the Pirates of the Caribbean films? At World’s End, the third film of the saga, is the most expensive film in thje history of cinema. It cost more than 300 milion dolars. However, it was a great succes, grossing over 900 million dolars!

Do you have to be handsome to be an actor?

Fortunately no. Hollywood loves handsome actorsand pretty actresses because they have a lot of fans who usually go to the cinema. But in the end, the most important thing is that they have a talent for acting.

Do you like popcorn?

Can you imagine watching a movie without popcorn? There are many people who disagree with people eating in the cinema because they find the noise and the smell annoying. They believe thet the cinema is not a plce to go and eat. What do you think?

Moon

As a large mirror

At night the moon glows but that is not because it emits light. It’s not a star so it doesn’t shine, it simply reflects the rays of light from the sun like a mirror.

Astronauts who have travelled to the moon have found that there is no lifethere. Humans could not go and live there, because there is no atmosphere, oxygen or water. But lunar exploration still continues, and in fact frozen water has been discovered which may be used to obtain oxygen and water in the future.

Extreme temperatures

The wind doesn’t blow on the moon. For that reason, so the light side is hotter than boiling water and the dark side is colder than any place on Earth, around -180ºC!
