All along this term, we have been working about a Spanish painter in Arts & Crafts, his name is Diego Velázquez. We have learnt that he is one of the great Spanish painters of the Golden Age. One of the representatives of the Spanish Baroque and his works show a highly realistic human figure and the technique of claroscuro.

We have done different tasks regarding this painter in order to know more about him. First of all, we have done a mind map in which we have taken into account the most rellevant information about him. After that, we have tried to reproduce some artworks imitating his mainly techniques. Hereby, you can observe some of our works:

Finally, we can say that we have been able to memorise key vocabulary and phrases, to create some compositions, to describe Velazquez’s art and to talk about his most important painting “Las Meninas”.
