FÊTE DE LA TOUSSAINT

La Toussaint est une fête traditionnelle en France.

La Toussaint et Halloween sont donc deux fêtes bien distinctes, mais avec une origine commune.

 

HALLOWEEN OU LA TOUSSAINT?

En France, on appelle la fête du Premier novembre, la Toussaint, comme en Espagne, parce que cette fête est inscrite dans notre calendrier ce jour là.

C’est une fête catholique. Dans la religion catholique, la commémoration des fidèles difunts c’est le 2 novembre, on l’ appelle aussi la fête des morts.

Le 2 novembre n’est pas un jour férié, alors les Français célébrent leurs  morts, le jour de la Toussaint.

Le premier novembre, fête de tous les Saints, on ne travaille pas et les gens profitent de ce jour de fête pour rendre hommage à leurs défunts.

C’est pour cela que l’on associe la fête de tous les Saints à la fête des défunts.

Durant la fête, les tombes des défunts sont décorées de fleurs. Les fleurs choisies sont les chrysanthèmes d’automne. Les chrysanthèmes remplacent les bougies depuis le milieu du 19ème siècle. Cette substitutionviendraient de la tradition de fleurir les tombes des soldats de la Première guerre mondiale. De plus en plus on associe la fête de la Toussaints à celle de Halloween .

Les enfants se déguisent et passent dans les maisons pour chercher des bonbons.

Même si la fête de Halloween n’est pas une tradition française, on sait que autrefois dans les régions de Lorraine et de Bretagne, on utilisait des betteraves pour faire des lampions.

CASTAWEEN

CASTANYADA

Castanyada is a popular party in some areas of northem Spain such as Catalonia. It is also a very popular party in Portugal, where it is called magusto. The common elements of this celebration are the celebration in the month of November and the main elements are chestnut and fire. With this feast  the chestnut tree recovers the importance that the corn and the potato snatched to him in the last centuries. It consists of a meal in which people eat chestnuts, panallets, sweet potato …. The drink of this festivity is moscatell, a sweet wine. The women who cook chestnuts are in the streets selling them, they are called ‘’CASTANYERES’’.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is the one of the oldest celebrations in the world. People celebrate it on the 31st of October in English speaking countries. For  exemple The USA,  The UK and Ireland among others.

Around the world, days  are shorter and nights are colder. People start the season with  wearing costumes and  eating sweets. Besides, there´s the desire to decorate in a unique way that will make houses and costumes look scary.

One of the  traditions of Halloween is  to make Jack o´Lantern with eccentric faces. People take a pumpkin and carve sacary faces on it in order to be sacry.  This tradition comes from the fact that Jack’s soul stayed wandering in the earth.

Halloween or Castanyada?

 

Most people prefer Halloween and we are not an exception, we also prefer it, because for us it  is more funny and you can dress up, walk through the street without people recognizing you, the only bad thing is that there are no panellets.

In Halloween you can go with your friends and do a lot of funny things. Normally, at Halloween night you have to go to houses and knock on the door and say: trick or treatand if people don’t give you sweets you have to throw eggs to their house.

Castanyada is funny too but, Halloween is better.

 

Halloween has more history than the catalan festivity called castanyada, its origin is in d.c S.XII.

OUR MAKE UP

In Halloween we are going to make up the skull.

The materials that we are going to use are:

  • Make up wax: black and white
  • Brush
  • Eyeshadow
  • Eyelash mask
  • Makeup cream foundation

And now we are going to explain the steps:

1- First, we are going to clean our face with water and cotton.

2- We put the makeup foundation on our face.

3- We start with the eyeshadow. And then we put the eyelash mask.

4-Before painting the smile, we are going to paint the face with the white makeup wax.

5- First, we paint the smile with the black makeup wax: and then we paint the teeth o from side to side ear to ear.

6- And now we are the cool make up!

MAKE UP OF THE SAW MOVIE

Material:

White face painting.

Red face painting.

Red lipstick

Eyeliner.

Black shadow.

1.First of all apply the white face painting over the face.

2.Apply the facial red paint in the cheeks in spiral shape,and colour the lips with the red lipstick

3. Add black shadow around the eyes .Draw conturne the edge of the eyes

halloween make up

Materials:

  1. White wax
  2. Black wax
  3. red lipstick
  4. Black eye-shadow

Steps:

1-First of all cover the face with white wax.

2-Then apply the black wax in the cheek and spread out

3-After, put the black eye-shadow and apply with a brush in the eyelid.

4-Then paint the lips with red lipstick

5-Finally do the small the details like blood, canines…

TUTORIAL OF HALLOWEEN MAKE UP : CLOWN

MATERIALS: Moisturizing cream, white wax, ayekiner, pink rouge, lipstick black, lipstick purple, pink shadow, black shadow, fake blood.

STEPS: In the first place add the moisturizing cream all over the face. Then, we paint of whaite the face. After we make the shape of the eyebrown, and then we fill it. The next step: apply the black shadow around the right eye. Then draw a corved downward triangle, from the whaterline to the cheek, and paint it. After we continue with the left eye, apply the black shadow around the left eye. Then with the fake blood, apply it in a makeup sponge a little bit of blood, and gently. The next step: draw the shape of the lips, and then paint it with black and purple lipstick. We continue whith the nose, we paint an small cicrle at the tip. After on a left eye we put some lines of fake blood that go from the eye to the throat. Finally we put some points in some places of the face.

Make up tutorial

TUTORIAL:

First we have to cover the face with white face painting. When we finish to put the white face painting we have to paint with black wax around the eyes. Later we have to paint two lines from the mouth to the forehead. Finally we must paint the lips in red colour.

COMMONWEALTH

The Commonwealth is composed by 52 countries from all around the world united by the conquest.

Some countries are: Australian, Saint Lucia, Malta, New Zealand, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, India, the Bahamas…

Two billion is  the number of people in the Commonwealth. Together they are about 30% of all the world’s population. That’s one out of every three people on the planet.

In the 1931 Australian, Canada, New Zealand and south Africa were the first countries to join in the Commonwealth. They are the richest countries.

In the 1947 India became independent and after it joined to the Commonwealth.

In the 2009 they celebrate 60th anniversary and welcome Rwanda the latest member in the Commonwealth.

Commonwealth of nations.

The commonwealth is a family of a 52 countries from all over the world. Pacific, Asia, Africa, Europe, Caribbean, America. They share abilities.

In Commonwealth are two billion of people. This is the 30% of world’s population. That’s  every 3 people on the planet! Some live in very small islands, like Nauru in the Pacific, and some live in very big countries like India in Asia.

Some countries like: India, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Zambia, Kenya, Singapore.

Most of the countries in the Commonwealth were once governed by Britain as part of British Empire. After they become independent many became part of a family where they could work together and help each other, this is their story.

First countries to be independent are:

1931:Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.

1947:India was independent.

2009: They celebrated 60th anniversary and welcome Rwanda, last member to the Commonwealth.
