Shooting at the Commonwealth
Shooting brings together accuracy, speed and consistency in a sport where the medal winners are those that can handle pressure the best.
There are four Shooting disciplines on the GC2018 program – Fullbore, Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun.
The countries that participated in 2014 were:
1 Australia (Winner), England, India, Singapore, Cyprus, New Zeland, Scotland, Canada,Bangladesh,South Africa and Wales, Malasya
A number of different events take place in the shooting category:
- Clay Target, where athletes fire at moving targets flying in differents directions,
- Full Bore, in which competitors fire at targets across a range of distances,
- Pistols and Small Bore, in which athletes fire at stationary targets across distances ranging from 10 to 50 metres
